My goal is to do neither and to keep the maximum amount of factory steel intact and uncompromised (but with significant reinforcements of course).

I’m still working on various solutions to this challenge, but it will be interesting to say the least.

keep in mind the thickness of the material used in the framing supports for the rear is thinner factory than in the engine bay. not necessarily the the wheel arches but the bulkhead rails themselves.
