Mike's Sol

You forgot to grab that distributor from me on Friday. Let me know if you end up needing it, I’ll ship it to you… lol.

Hey you don’t happen to live (or have friends/family) on center view drive in troy do you? I swear I saw this car across the street from my girlfriends house one day.

Hey mike that hood looks really good … :thumb and i hope all your dizzy problems are all sorted out …

I love the hood. I wanted a similar hood for my car. Very nice work :nod

Yea family/friends there. Is that your evo I see parked out there?

yup, that’s me.

turns out the Mocal thermostat/sandwich plate I thought was so cool cracked in half yesterday… luckly I noticed the oil pressure drop and investigated.

This car hates me too

obviously a problem with the fittings. I assumed i over torqued the fittings but when I talked to the company i bought it from i found they had added this to the listing:

We strongly recommend the use of AN Male to BSP Male unions. These unions come by the pair and include the 1/2" Dowty seal. This is the proper fitting to use with any Mocal Sandwich plate.
Use of a NPT fitting is not recommended on Mocal plates. Damage to plate or leaks may occur.

would have been useful information before.

was originally a lip for another type of car. I was able to pick up this one up with the ABS shattered in a few spots. Fixed it up best I could and retrofitted it to my bumper.

Once I get the hood out here to rochester I will be making it into a full splitter/undertray directing all the air upwards. then doing some testing at the local drag strip using a spare map sensor to check pressure and zip ties to check suspension compression.

Wait so where’s the CF hood that you fabbed up those inverse scoops on?

thats the old hood that I wrecked. I will fiberglass the corner where it is broke and use it for track days. Its in CP right now, I had no way to get it to Rochester.

oh sweet, how’d it come out? Finished yet?

Oh and that lip looks awesome, i was going to retrofit a lip onto my Civic from another type of car but didn’t feel like messing with it and threw it in my shed.

nope not finished. I had to head out here pretty much after I took those pics.

anyone read this anymore? :umm

I’ve got it marked as a favorite to check in on :runaway

woopsie… oversteer is a bitch.

good to hear someone reads it. Do you want the old oil thermostat? im sure a couple minutes of welding bungs to it would make it useful again.

Also, I think my dad is gonna call you about the bronco. Think youll have any time to fix it up?

Well I am closing the deal on a garage out here in rochester so i can store and work on the car this winter. I also forgot to post up here that I got this on the car in the dark the night before the autocross:

definitely helped the car rotate.
