+1 for planning in Solidworks.
In the process of doing the same assemblies (bumper support, front end)
Its extremely helpful for me to be able to look at it in solidworks and spin it around to plan everything out. Even if its simplified, if the dimensions are right it still gives you a good idea of the fit of everything.
I have a few more of both ongoing and aborted ideas:
