look at that guy, do you see any angle or smoke from it?
i personally think his pick is weak.
:nono yeah the solstice was a very weak choice
I hated the idea of a Solstice drift car all along.
if anything he should have gone with a miata for a roaster style drift car… but i guess there’s a reason you don’t see many miata drift cars
isnt he getting sponsored by pontiac? …jdm option i think had a show with him and the only manufacture sponsor for d1.Or was it someone else?
Yeah, hes sponsored by Pontiac.
Wasn’t there a drift demo with NASCAR drivers and someone crashed his car. IIRC I read it in SCC.
The solstice is cool. I’m glad that they are trying to bring different cars into drifting, not just a million S15’s like in D1.
Yeah. Robby Gordon put his GTO into the wall, but it wasnt very hard. That was only a few weeks ago tho, and the Solstice has been in the works forever.
That track is super tight and isn’t very condusive to smoke making.
Here’s some of his shakedown runs in the same car: http://www.driftlive.com/dl/rhys-millen-pontiac-solstice/
Drifting isn’t about smoke anyway guys It’s about finess and Millen has that in spades.
B-Wurm
that solstice is sick, 440 HP, 407 ft lbs. crazy suspension setup…
Haha, Millen has been a FACTORY pontiac sponsored driver for the past 3 seasons…
kool i just didnt know if it was him or they other guy for falken? (cant remember that either) but i guess that wouldnt make sense because now that i think it was that mustang gt the falken guy was driving.I think millen should stick with the gto it seemed to be better.
and i believe this is the worst choice ever for a drift car
needs a roof chop or two… 8)
http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/10/31/honda-reveals-element-d-drift-car/
They’re two completely different things. One is Pontiac’s attempt to sponsor a car that wins a drift series. One is Honda’s attempt to show they have way too much money and they can make a box on wheels drift. Yes, I know the box on wheels will supposedly be competing in FD, but I’m pretty sure Millen will win it again and I doubt the Honda makes it to the top 16 once.
ya and they are both bad choices…
i like the solstice also. i think its a great car…sumthin different
that element is really hurtin like it is ready to roll over or something … damn boxes
I heard Rhys didnt like the solstice comparedto the GTO because of the short wheel base and he was trying to put off using it in competitions since the early summer until the Formula-D season was done . But if pontiac is paying and he is involved with development/setup then I dont see why he is complaining … should have been a saturn sky though
short wheel base over 400 horses i can see that car going pretty quick, like ae86, but much quicker. the only problem is once again the wheel base, wont be able to have so much control as he did with his gto. sky is the same pile.
I don’t know. I have an issue of super street with a feature length article about the Solstice and Rhys seemed really excited about it and was saying that it would be way faster and more exciting to watch than the GTO. Don’t forget guys, it took them a long time to get the GTO dialed in when they first started using it too!
Bravo for Pontiac trying to get more involved in the drift world.
true, but IMO a MUCH nicer looking pile. Turbo one coming soon too I think
And i would never want to own a pontaic, but i agree its good they are getting involved. Maybe they’ll learn something and improve their product in the next few years…
but it would take a quantam leap before I would even look at one mind you… :vom:
