g35 sure is a nice car

Next year you should be able to pick up a 335i for very very low 30s
the reason I got my sti is because I didn’t want to have to mod it much to be happy. I wanted GPS and the ability to run high 12s-low 13s. I put in the nav and with the exhaust/tune, I should be in that 1/4 mi time(300whp/340ish tq).

A part of me still wishes that I bought an STi to begin with.
If your car is almost paid for, finish paying for it, then mod it.
Then I still have an issue with getting into track days. With awesome places like VIR less than 2 hours away, I would like to do one or two a year with the local SCCA chapter. But they are pussies.

one or two times a year… is not enough… I drove to dunville in the pouring rain last saturday 4 hours late to get it out of my system.
e46 m3, e39 m5, e90 335. that would be my list.
if you want to do trackdays, just buy a roll bar and some tires. do trackdays. sell car at the end of the year and upgrade
if I could get on the track down here for the price you get out at Dunnville for, I would get out every date I could. I did find a good deal for a track weekend at VIR. 350 for the weekend including hotel stay. Track is 1.5 hours away. No Verts without roll-bars 
I’m like 45 minutes from VIR, I didn’t realize we were so close.
I’d say don’t mod the Z, pay it off, enjoy it as a nice dd.
Then a) sell Z for different dd & buy a track car or b) keep Z as dd and buy a track car.
Either way I agree don’t mod the Z especially if you are having a hard time doing what you want with it.

The VIR videos I have watched look REALLY fun.
I am not buying a third car. At some point, the insurance payments won’t be worth the cost. I need my truck to be able to launch my boat and to haul around my dog when he goes swimming at the park and stuff. Helps for home rennovations as well.
I really want a sports car that the girlfriend will not mind riding around in with me.
There is no clearance for the roll bar to be able to get the top back up. I have yet to see a solution that does not involve forfeiting the top as a whole.
i forgot you bought a roadster (stupid you who buys a vert :barf:) you could pick up something cheap to mid… and track that/ abuse that and DD the vert. I really don’t see a point in tracking a vert… (exemption miata, elise)
If I could cage the vert, I would track it.
The vert is really fun to drive at auto-x

Drive the Z, pay it off or as close to off as you can. Sell for car that can a) be tracked in stock or near stock form and b) that your gf would not mind riding around in… lol
