Mod Existing car or change it up?

I have been having a really hard time deciding if I really want to mod my car, or if I want to just save my beans and upgrade in a year or so.

Either way, I will get bored without changing SOMETHING.

What would you guys do?

Spend money on mods or buy a better faster car?

save money. upgrade later.

I’ve been tipping the scale in that direction. I want an Elise.

I want to decide now though, before I spend any money on Mods. If I don’t mod, I will pay off the remainder of my loan in a hurry.

It would help if we knew what vehicle you’re talking about.

In your profile I see:
Vehicles:
00’ Xterra, 92 civic hatch
Ride:
2004 Nissan 350zR

I used to mod, but then after I bought the “already modded” upgrade of my previous car… I thought “wow, I wasted a lot of extra money”

So, for me… no mods on the existing car due to problems trading it in, as well as to save cash for the next “upgrade”

you don’t want an elise.

it’s a faggot car.

trust me.

I think I was speaking more in generalities.

However, I don’t own the civic anymore, so I am really talking about the 350z

a lot can change in a year, we’ll see.

Keep your car (without mods)…or sell it to me

350Z isn’t a bad place to start from if you’re planning on modding. A little heavy depending on what you want to do with it but at least it’s decent handling platform with a good FR layout. It’s never going to be an Elise though so if that’s the type of driving experience you’re aiming for I’d save my money and just buy the Elise.

My biggest gripe with the car currently is that I am not having much luck getting into track days with the convertible. I am kicking myself now for not researching it before I bought a rag-top car.

Secondly, who the hell wants to lose money on modding a car. I mean shit, Even wheels and tires alone are looking like they will cost me 1500+. Before I know it with some mild suspension mods, wheels, exhaust, I will have another $5k sunk in.

Why the hell not not just wait a year, save another 5-6k for an added down payment, and upgrade to a car in the high 20k to very low 30k range? Doesn’t really make sense to lose money on mods. That would really allow me to pick up a car that in stock form, would probably blow the Z out of the water. Said car would likely hold its value better than aftermarket parts would.

in before chino asks if this is a parody :stuck_out_tongue:

I say change it up. Put all the money you would spend on modding it into the new car.

Sounds like you’ve already made the right decision. So what was the point of the poll?

well, what do you plan on doing for mods? just simple stuff? if anything major, just buy a new car

If I start modding it, I won’t stop. Does anyone on this forum actually just have simple mods?

probably a few lol not many though, your right you probably wouldn’t stop. just sell it then and upgrade to something better out of the box

I wanted to get other people’s opinions on what they prefer. There are a lot of people on here selling modded cars and getting fed up with downtime.

I do, Turbo back and tune

:rolljerk:

haha jk

What would my options be as far as newer sports cars go? 30k being the limit. No Mods.

i’d own a g35 coupe in a heartbeat…if it wasn’t for the fact i live in buffalo :frowning:

edit but seeing you had a 350z that doesn’t mean much to you haha
