350Z isn’t a bad place to start from if you’re planning on modding. A little heavy depending on what you want to do with it but at least it’s decent handling platform with a good FR layout. It’s never going to be an Elise though so if that’s the type of driving experience you’re aiming for I’d save my money and just buy the Elise.
My biggest gripe with the car currently is that I am not having much luck getting into track days with the convertible. I am kicking myself now for not researching it before I bought a rag-top car.
Secondly, who the hell wants to lose money on modding a car. I mean shit, Even wheels and tires alone are looking like they will cost me 1500+. Before I know it with some mild suspension mods, wheels, exhaust, I will have another $5k sunk in.
Why the hell not not just wait a year, save another 5-6k for an added down payment, and upgrade to a car in the high 20k to very low 30k range? Doesn’t really make sense to lose money on mods. That would really allow me to pick up a car that in stock form, would probably blow the Z out of the water. Said car would likely hold its value better than aftermarket parts would.
