Million people got banned for DL MW2 last week before it was released
Uhm, Like I said… Not because of MW2. My console has been banned since the first wave like 2-3 years ago.
Had nothing to do with MW2… But I guess those that don’t know what they are talking about will continue to read cnn.com and think they know what is going on 
the reason people get banned is for downloading retail rips and playing them online , Modding drives , etc. They need to start banning people who use modded controllers. Makes the game less desirable to people who dont use them.
So yes, downloading and playing MW2 on xbox live was in direct relation to the people who got banned. If they did not play that game online, would they have been banned with that group? NO
They downloaded a pirated copyrighted work (I do this all the time) and then made the choice to play it on xbox live. BEFORE it was available to the general public. They mind as well sent a letter to Microsoft saying “Hey, I modded my console to play pirated shit, ban me.”
More games than just MW2 use the security feature that you are thinking of. MS typically uses big releases to debut their newest security features to catch such modders. But saying it was directly because of MW2 (and not other similarly secured titles) is just flat out incorrect. Playing the game early has no impact on the banning. Media, beta testers, and local stores selling early are all reasons one might have the game early legitimately.
That is kind of what I was trying to say. Not that they were banned because of the game but rather the game brought to light who the hackers were?
It had nothing to do with MW2 like I said before. MANY people that did not play Forza 3 or MW2 early were hit. I am on top of this shit Evan, I don’t read news reports to get my information.

Mine did not get banned… out of everyones I know that is modded, only my girlfriends little brothers got banned. I also played MW2 early on my 360.
