here’s a q for BAS and the other welders.
need to weld a peice of steel into my z31 o2housing to fix this stupid wastegate…stupid 7 bolt o2 flange. The wastegate is located inside the o2 housing. Need to cut that part off,face it, make a plate and build a custom downpipe off of it. Much like titan did here: 
But because of the shitty design and to make it easier to make a new o2 housing to mate up with my exhuast, i’m going to divorce the wastegate and o2 housings.
I’ve heard rumor it’s cast steel not cast iron. If i weld in a peice to seperate the wastegate from the turbo outlet, is it goign to crack?
I’m going to head over to the shop and fire up the tig.
