I’m game
Is that round-trip or one way?
I wouldn’t mind putting one together. It would have to wait until late August or early September though.
if anyone is interested in actual mountain biking over path type biking, getting involved with PORC is a great way to start… http://www.porcmtbclub.org/
whenever i would be up for a ride
def up form some off trail stuff to
so you guys want to ride your bicycles from Pittsburgh to Washington DC? Where do I sign up?!?!?!
:hsugh:
I don’t think they make automatic bikes though, you’ll need to learn how to go through the gears
One way. Hendersonville to Robinson is about 25 mi.
That would be a decent ride then. I usually go from the beginning of the trail in Bethel Park to Rt. 19 and back which is a 15 mile ride, but going all the way to Robinson and back would be a great gauge to see how well I would deal with going to Ohiopyle.
There is a bridge missing over Morganza Rd. I start at the hendersonville entrance when I walk my dog there, so I don’t know the detour. There’s only maybe 1/4 mile missing. If you can find your way around that you should be able to take the trail the whole way.
if a pittspeed group rides the trail, you can count me in as well.
i would do it again as long as pewter parks his truck at teh other end like last time. i am to fat to go both directions
:bigthumb:
Where would people want to take off from? Maybe the Hendersonville stop and then ride up to Robinson and back?
Sounds like a great idea.
Thats not a bad ride… Hendersonville is pretty much the end right? So north is your only option… The good thing also is that its downhill on the way back. If you started also at the head in coraopolis, you’d go up slightly and then down on the way back.
Well we could start in Bethel Park (where I usually start my rides) and then once we get to the end of the trail at rt. 19 we could ride like a 1/4 mile on the road to pick the trail up again and take it to hendersonville. It would add maybe like 10 miles each way.
it wouldnt matter to me… if everyone wants to try and pick a date, i can try bringing some of my buddies out too…
Sounds like we need a north and a south ride. You north guys sound like >20 milers!
Would anyone be up for a ride on Aug. 29th? I am going to start in Bethel Park and ride up to Robinson meet the wife for lunch and then ride back. If anyone wants to join me (either going north or south) let me know.
Looks like the 25 mile Montour Trail is what I’m looking for. Well, not me…I’m old and fat, but for my 13 year old and a few of his buddies who need a 50 miler to complete the requirements for the BSA Bicycling Merit Badge. I rode with them a couple years ago from Rockwood to Confluence on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail for an 18 mile ride. I almost died.
