Motorcycle shipping

Has anyone here ever shipped a motorcycle? I am looking for good insured/bonded carriers. Thanks for any help here. I have been getting quotes that seem high at least compared to car shipping.

around 500 last i knew to ship to tenessee i forgot who we used, call some shops. or check out supermoto junkies I know those guys always ship stuff.

Thanks.

I had my bike shipped from Indiana for $313 in an enclosed trailer. Granted it took 3 weeks due to weather delays and whatnot but it was the middle of winter. I used Uship.com. Place an ad, and be patient enough with the bids. You’ll find that the shippers will outbid each other quite a bit so don’t bite on the first good bid that you see. While it is risky if you go with a more sketchy shipper, they do have feedback ratings that you can view just like on ebay. If you want, I’ll look up the guy who shipped mine. He was a russian fellow, probably mid-20’s and he had a pretty large enclosed trailer that must have held 10-12 bikes at max capacity.

I used forward air a few years ago it was a really good experience. About $600 to cali. I paid a little more but I really liked the idea of the enclosed crate (and the buyer was reimbursing anyways so wtf did I care)…

The drop off was by the airport, you need straps and 2 padlocks, you strap it in the crate, lock the crate, send the padlock keys to the recipient, and it doesn’t get opened until they pick it up. It took about 8 days to get there…

I put all the accessories in a big box and strapped that in there too.

I actually found uship while searching and it seems like a good way to go to find places with a lot of feedback that are a lot more reasonable than some previous offers.

are you having something brought in? or are you shipping something out? I could use a road trip…

Shipping in… west of Chicago.

send me a text.

Like I said, I got a really good deal I think. It may have been the timing since it was winter, but I’m still happy with how everything went and I will definitely use them again in the future (Uship that is).
