Anyone use their laptops to log at NYIRP or TMP? If so does it need to be mounted or is a strap in the passenger seat acceptable? Any mounting ideas are welcome too.
Thanks
Chip
umm, you need to use your laptop while running down the strip?
or are you taking it for datalogging? in which case, just hookup your cable and leave the laptop on the floor in the backseat.
:gotme:
Put it on the roof. I think they sell a rack for it.
LOL.
Hold it on your lap. Whats the worst that could happen in your 15 second car
They’ve never given me shit in the 12’s any NYIRP, Capital raceway, nor MIR w/the laptop WIDE OPEN on my passenger seat w/the power inverter hangin right there too… I’m sure you’ll be fine.
Mount it as a spoiler rather… Downforce + datalogging, cant beat that. You can read the results from your rearview.
Thank you for the 1 straight reply.
You just roll up and they flag you through to stage. The only person who’d see it would be the guy handing out slips in the return lane. Like Haenszel said I doubt they’d have an issue with it unless you were going pretty fast.
don’t blow the welds on your intake
lol but yeah, just leave it on the floor… no one will be the wiser. or put it in the glove box if its big enough/small enough laptop
I would say leave out for the first run when they tech you car and then you are fine.
They don’t care about much at NYIRP until you break the roll cage barrier. They did not say anything to me about it last Wednesday when it was just sitting in my seat. When I was racing in Detroit they said I had to belt it in before I went down the track.
