mike… budget is about the same price. The tow is actually a bit more expensive.
the problem is you also have to find a place that has a coporate partnership in tampa, i used Uhaul to come to tampa
From experience
- Do NOT use Uhaul, if you must use a truck, use Penske, the best trucks, and usually one of the cheapest.
- GET THE INSURANCE, regardless of what other coverage you think you have, it really is a no questions asked thing if you fuck up the truck.
- Don’t rent a truck. (maybe this should have been #1) but driving a rental suck cross country sucks. It sucks even more if you have to tow a car. What can you do? It’s even CHEAPER to use something like ABF’s U-Pack service. I’ve used it several times and trust me. Someone else bringing your shit down, driving your car down yourself, and it costing less = the friggin win.
that is what I was trying to tell him…but does skunk listen noooooo
i’ve gotta quotes from $800 - $1000 to ship my car…
any ideas on who could ship it for less?
getting a uhaul is one thing… but the tow is only an extra $240…
i originally wanted to get it shipped, the the prices were getting a little high
yea… sean was telling me about that…
i’ll ahve to look into it since he didn’t…when I ASKED HIM TO!
plus… i didn’t want to drive my car down
If you’re going to rent a moving van why not just get a trailer and tow the M with you? Ryder I know rents tandem axle trailers with their trucks.
yea… that’s what i was planning on doing. It would be much cheaper.
If you are trying to do it cheap, it doesn’t involve shipping your car, I can promise you that.
Cheap = UPack + Udrive your own car
If for some reason you’re a nancy and worried about your car, your next best bet is probably to tow it.
holy shit ABF’s u-pack shit is expensive, cost over 1600, i ended up paying about 1200 to move my self
yea… i checked it too… damn pricey.
i dunno… i’ll figure something out.
Oh Tee: Why are you moving to Tampa? Besides the women, nice weather, and large® gay community?
Aaron,
You could get one of those moving P.O.D.S. and pack up all your stuff in that thing, then they will ship it down to FL and you can drive your car down. When Gian moved to NC that’s what he did, I think it cost him $600 to have that POD thing shipped.
pod is way too much. they only have one size for moving and they want WAYYYYYYY too much
moves to FL suck for renting trucks. I used to work for Budget, and the prices are ridiculous because they have too many trucks goin down, and not enough comin back, and customers pay the premium for that.
i just found out i can ship cars though my work
What’d you do wrong? It was half as much as a Uhaul all 3 times I used it :poke:
oh worddddddd???
get a price
