Did the first couple test fits on the motor today, had to pound a bit of sheet metal to get it in where I wanted it. Looks like there is going to be tons of room to put long tube headers in, which is nice. The power steering line pictured below is the only real issue now in terms of clearance. So I’ll need to bend up a new line to keep that from hitting the oil pan, a 90° block with a new line should solve the issues.
Also started doing mock up on my VK56/Z33 6 Speed adapter plate, have the VK side bolt positions and outer dimensions done. Have the Z33 stuff measured and plotted but as always it changes a bit when you start putting things together, so I’ll need to double and triple check that tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll have a pattern for a final plate this weekend so I can get one machined in the next week or two and put the drive train in. (well, drop it in, and then pull it out, and then drop it back in, and then pull it out, rinse and repeat).
Nice stretch nuts.
Josh just put some video up of me from the DMCC Drivers Search @ Downsview Park
Also, the car is in the beginning of the recently uploaded Hot Moves vid (see Josh isn’t the only slow one at putting stuff up ;))
Just an FYI, any drinking being done in the video is by NON Drivers, or Brad, who blew his car up and was subsequently, not driving the rest of the day. This is STRICTLY enforced.
Also footage from Kenny’s 2008 reel:
Stuff from Haunted Moves in that vid, he’s supposedly working on a Haunted Moves video next.
Yeah… let’s just say I need a new comp for editing because this is getting ridiculous…
That’s a great shot
New Haunted Moves Video:
No photos of the car for now, waiting on some parts to arrive.
pimpin! that v8 is guna sound amazing with some custom long tubes. hoe come u didnt go with the smaller, higher revving 4.5? u wanted the nasty torque of the 5.6?
The 4.5 is an old design, it’s hard to make good power with, and isn’t as reliable. And yes, the torque is a big role, as well as over 400whp.
my 4.5 kicks ass so you can suck it mike
Hows the car coming along?
Good, front suspension is done, though I’m going to reswap spring rates. I’ll have new photos up just after xmas. Going to start working on the new vinyl and hopefully will have the first trans plate in my hands. Some of the stuff just doesn’t get photos put online, sorry!
Nice spiderweb intake brah.
:deadhorse2:
awesome
looking forward to updates
fuck.
are you going to running a flywheel spacer to compensate for the thickness of the adapter plate or machine the bell housing to the correct size?
i hope machining
He’s machining the trans, if he wasn’t, Id make fun of him until he did
Yeah, machining, tough part is taking the 350z trans apart since the bell housing it’s a seperate piece, I literally have to tear it down to the gear stacks. Thankfully I have a spare trans to play with.
Some Christmas Cheer…
Just holding the headlight up there so you know what’s going on
 to progress
