It took a year, but McLaren’s team of engineers was able to put humpty dumpty back together again and the insurance company actually agreed to pick up the tab.
MR BEAN star Rowan Atkinson has his beloved supercar back in one piece after insurers coughed up a staggering £910,000 to fix it - the biggest-ever repair bill in Britain.

That’s what insurance is for.

I’m more curious how that would affect value.
I’m guessing it won’t. Sounds like it was rebuilt from te ground up .

Yeah, it isn’t like Caruba hacked this back together with a bunch of rusty junk yard parts.
Still, when a car is this rare it’s pedigree matters so I’d guess this one wouldn’t be valued as high as others.
Not that any of that matters since Atkinson is so awesome. He bought it to drive it, not to have it sit in some sealed garage as an investment.
Uhhhhh… This is Mr.Bean were talking about here… its already worth 3x the value simply because his buns have graced the seat.
I hope that fixed that horrible color while they were at it.

He’s pretty much the British Seinfeld and he had done a lot more work than just Mr. Bean. Black Adder being my favorite.
I don’t mind the color, but what always amazes me with many of these super cars is how UGLY and horrific the wheels are!
Does anyone else see the wheels on this thing? They look like those 100$ ones you find on tirerack or something in popular mechanics magazines.
Also Saleen S7? That thing has got some fugly wheels.

Yeah it amazes me how these automakers could produce such beautifully timeless cars with these unimaginatively bland wheels.

I like the wheels and the color just fine…to me the F1 is the most perfect car ever made…and I love that this guy drives the car…even if it is to the point that he bangs it up…

Rowan, 58, worth a reported £71 million, hit a slippery patch of road near Peterborough in August 2011 before ploughing into a tree.

agree with you there. you could paint an f1 matte pink and I would still drive it. Such an awesome car. I have a hard time believing that Mclaren will ever make something on that level again. Although the MP4-12C is cool, It’s not nearly as awesome.
He really beats the hell out of his cars though:
