My 1965 Nova II- 8.85@153.5 - Turbo kit FS

What size hose is the turbo oil feed? Looks huge in the pic

-4

I just tricked you with my sweet ass photography skills.

Turbo feed -4
Drain -10

Catch can -10

Fuel
pump to y -10
each rail gets -8 from y
each rail feeds reg -6
return is -6

Too many fitting and lines in my future

I have a crappy ATP 18" -4 stainless POS line and it is about half the thickness of the nice aeromotive line I had. Both were -4. I’ll gladly pay more for the aeromotive stuff from now on. So much nicer quality , and the swivel fittings actually swivel Lol

I use aeroquip hose. Its SIQQQQQQQQ

I literally only use aeroquip hose at this point and it is so nice to work with. I know it sounds crazy but I remember on the rx7 build wasting a lot of time on cheaper lines and fittings.

As for fittings I dont mind any from Aeroquip, mr gasket, fragola, vibrant, russell. I am sure there are more that are nice. They all have small differences though.

Fixed.

OMG you remember that shit show? Remember when it would take 6,000,000lbs of force to seat the hose end only to not be able to get the flare end in? LOL

It is amazing how nice the aeroquip cuts and how flexible it is too. That combined with the tools Spam let me borrow has made it a totally different experience.

Funny how much easier things get with a little experience. 5-10 years from now I hope to laugh at the struggles from this build as well.

I hear ya on using nice hose and fittings. It’s not worth saving 50 bucks when doing a whole car.

Making all of these lines is sure time consuming. From the list above

Turbo feed -4 done
Drain -10 done

Catch can -10 done

Fuel
pump to y -10 - Waiting for the fuel cell so i know where the bulkhead location will be. I ran it back to the pump.
each rail gets -8 from y done
each rail feeds reg -6 done
return is -6 - Also waiting for cell/bulkhead location but I ran it out back just waiting for final fitting

I think so far I have assembled 14 hoes end fittings. 8-10 should finish it up. My trunk isnt flat so mounting the cell might be a challenge. Need to start thinking about that.

Didn’t get a bunch of pics after I made a bunch but here is one of the catch can before I made the hoses and mounted it. The one line I am making is from a valve cover to catch can.

Maybe you guys will be more entertained by exhaust.

I worked a few more days on the exhaust. First I made the section that comes over the axle. Added a 4" vband. Then made the muffler section.
All that is left is to add two mounts to the muffler so it hangs in the final location and make the pipes that have the tips. Muffler is 4" inlet dual 3" outlet. I mounted it slightly offset passenger side with both 3" exits facing the rear of the car. Think 90 out of the muffler, add length, 90 out the rear.

First up mount the exhaust before making the section over the rear to ensure after mounting you dont change where it hangs. This attaches to a brace under the car using 3/4" rubber studs. Kind of like a really big rubber washer with threads on both ends.

Rear section made and polished. Then welded

Starting to weld up the muffler section after I was happy with the fit.

Nice chair

I love that chair. I grabbed it from someones trash on my street. #ballin

Can we get more pics of the chair?

What is that holding your fittings together on that vise ? So you can tighten them before they you install them ? How do you make all your line a cutoff wheel ?

So when Spam on here realized I was about to start making fittings he asked if I wanted to borrow some of his setup which has drastically impoved the process.

Jaws to hold the hose end

Hose end assembly tools

Hose cutter… I was skeptical but they are amazing

Lastly an aluminum adjustable wrench kinda like this one

So much better.

After we crank the boost on that stang!

Awesome. Thanks for linking everything too

That wrench is a super handy tool for sure

Everything above works great. I could live without the hose end tools since they are expensive but in the future will get my own wrench, cutter, and jaws for sure.

But man the hose end tool has a taper that makes you never have to fight getting them started.

Why would someone throw out such an awesome chair?!

Thanks for all the links AN fittings make me want to punch people in the face and throw tools.

I guess I should start saving for a new motor then…
