My 1965 Nova II- 8.85@153.5 - Turbo kit FS

I see you decided to throw that anti bleeding device on this car also

I will try it today with the hood closed.

Specifically what do you mean how is it plumbed? In and out are both on pass side of rad, KUP coolant crossover returns to a fitting I threaded into the water pump, heater hose looped, overflow tank hooked to rad cap port. I did not hook up a drain from the overflow tank but can if it ever deems necessary.

I am having no cooling problems with this build. When the rx7 did it had nothing to do with said device. I am going to change your Avatar to :troll:

Also you should really update it to Fear the LS3!

Rumble-rumble.

Now leaking from a rad hose and trans line! yay

more hose clamps!

i would say the temp differential is due to:
-sensors reading slightly differently (not likely)
-a stubborn bubble in the system (likely)
-water picking up temp as it moves through the block and heads, but i thought it flowed front to rear, which doesn’t agree with the way your temps are reading.

Have you driven the car at all yet? When bleeding I have found that idling/revving will only do so much as far as removing air from the system. I’ve had my crap idle for like 20 mins after a bleed and have it up to temp with no overheating, and then take it out on on the road, throw some pulls/revs at it, and somehow it moves the bubbles around.

I have not driven it yet but I too would believe it is air. Trying to have it not spew fluids all over first. Before last night I had no seats either. Now I have a driver seat! I am probably going to install the pass seat and seatbelts tonight.

I grabbed some t-bolt clamps from summit to hopefully fix the coolant leak. Otherwise I am pulling off the silicone hose and finding a rubber replacement. I have gone down this road before.

I wasn’t trolling btw

Do you know of people having issues with them that didn’t have another cooling system issue causing it? I only know of two people one being myself and I had a return hose plumbed wrong.

Also speaking of coolant hoses this is the 2nd time I have used 5ply silicone hoses for coolant. I am 100% convinced these need to be installed with t-bolt clamps to seal. Just passing on some learnings. In the future I will probably go back to using factory style rubber hoses.

Luke L and I tried multiple options to get the trans fitting to stop leaking with no luck. We did put some paste and tape on the fitting and now I am letting it set for 24hrs and will start it this evening and see if it still leaks. I am afraid it will and the issues are with the NPT thread. If this does not work I am pulling the trans and welding the fittings on this saturday. Lesson learned.

On a positive note we started working on seat brackets and the driver seat is 100% installed and looks great. Passenger seat bracket is installed and I will finish it tonight.

Let’s do this!!!

Have you tried this to help bleeding?

This is a necessity in my shop. I think Carquest carries them in stock. Call and check it out.

Don I have used that once before with and it was excellent. I went to autozone looking for one the other day. Maybe I will just order that from Summit.

Welcome to my snap-on airlift like this anytime. Do a full drain, vacuum it down into a vacuum and suck it full. Works great

drew we’ve got 3 of those spill free funnels at work, i can nab one for a night if you dont feel like waiting. also all the tool guys that come to work carry them for around $30.

I have the same thing gotdubd has. You’re welcome to it

Trans is still leaking. FML

Do you even really need multiple gears to do burnouts?

Weld it.

Hell yes. Fuck selling cars, acquire more space. Where’s that “laughing-guy-painting” meme when you need it?

The cutout is mint. That will be clutch when you’re gaining the interest of the local gendarmes.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu NPT.

You sure they are an NPT thread on the trans? Not sure what is on the glide, but I know my TH400 had a slightly different thread and the NPT fittings leaked on me too. Got the correct fittings now I’m good to go.

Edit… also I get the pro discount at summit next time you need to order jams.
