Since I don’t have much to offer on the technical front all I can do is put the wind at your back with uplifting moral support…which after all is the most important. I know you know it to be true.
why not -20?
I’m trying to juggle some things around…I’ll let you know.
The trans cooler fan issues is the connection to the LS harness and RAD fan. There was no mating connector so I temporarily connected using spades to verify PULL/PUSH. Odds are they are shorting out. The best fix would be to cut off the POS connector and make our own connections with insulated spades terminals.
Brake Lights - the connector is disconnected on the brake pedal or the relay is not hooked up. Double check wiring. I did not verify lights as the car was not ready for power when I was debugging.
Turn signals…we need that harness for the column. Tell the MFG is never came with the KIT. I don’t remember seeing it ever.
[HUGzzzzzzzzzzz]
Took a look at this thing last night.
Rad looks to be leaking from the end tank. It appears Griffin uses an epoxy and it might have burned through when I welded close to it? Anyhow I am pulling it out to get a better look.
I can keep messing with the lower rad hose but bottom line is my measurements were slightly off and I have decided to just fix it properly by cutting up the thermostat housing(again) and moving it toward the block about 1/2". This should resolve the leaking as I will be able to properly install the damn clamp.
Started grinding the rear calipers. My sock started on fire. lol This will be easy to finish.
Electrical havent looked at yet
Goddamnit, you and rear calipers
I had an exhaust cutout on my RB swapped 240 back in 05. I’m disappointed to see that the switching is still a momentary (don’t hold it too long) toggle and not an open/closed rocker. I realize it’s not a big issue, but a 2 position switch would be a vast improvement.
I’m sure @LUKE_L could build something that would accomplish that. Should be pretty easy because amp load should go way up once it’s closed. I just don’t know if the change in temperature of the device would affect your full-lock amp load. It’d be so easy to test though.
^^ that really would be a nice feature. I think that’s how I cooked my last one.
That would be much nicer.
We can definitely fix that… @newman is right
Cut those connectors off on the RAD fan and splice the wires. That will fix that issue.
I still need that column harness for the Turn signals
People would buy it I bet

People would buy it I bet. The supplied switch sucks.
Radiator fixed via new epoxy on the tank. Must have been a tiny tiny leak. Under pressure would only do a few drops after 30min of running but I had to fix it. Was bothering me
Thermostat neck/lower hose that was leaking also fixed. Took this one back to the drawing board.
Bought a new thermostat housing. Cut it on my bandsaw right at the flange.(sorry no pics) rotated the exit where I wanted it. Welded it back up. Welding cast alum is such a pain! Anyhow no more leak and the hose is about 3/4" away from the crossover now!
Re wired the trans cooler fan. No more fuses blowing.
Rear calipers ground and wheels fit no problem
Installed and verified the VSS is working
Installed seat belts.
New issues…
Nothing crazy. After i put the car on the ground the idle started bouncing. On the wideband it keeps going lean. If i rev it on the way down it bounces a bunch then settles and is fine. It has not done this before so im guessing something came loose. Plug/vac line? Any ideas welcome!!!
Next up I need to adjust the front coilovers. The car is wayyyyy too low and I can’t turn. I plan to bring it up about 1-1.5" up front. Rear looks perfect. It will still be quite low
Can we cruise soon before mine comes back apart? lol.
Hopefully
Here are a few pics
I am very happy with the interior, underhood, and overall look of the car.
This is what I used for the idea on my thermostat. Mine looks similar but I smoothed mine out and painted it after. You wouldn’t know it is non oem by looking at mine.
Instagram straight flexin!
Hell yeah dude! Glad to see you didn’t burn your house down!!! Lol
If you’re going to mess with this during the week let me know I will come yell things at it.
Yet.
I will be out there tonight for a few hrs.
I forgot to mention. This thing runs even cooler now. I changed the thermostat to a 160deg. At idle just sitting forever it was at 174-176.
So
I JUST DROVE THE CAR! Made a bunch of boost too. Around 14psi. Smoked the tires. Was able to build 4psi on the footbrake easily too. Wonder if it could go higher. Under 60=80% tps it was making boost at like 2500rpm which was sooner then i figured.
So happy
Few minor things but nothing too crazy. Drove very nice.
BS. Pics?
