Are you sure it was a GL model? Like did you check the model code on the data tag against Nissan’s decoding guide? Some dealerships put GL emblems on SF’s. My 87 Z31 had GL on the back, but it has no options, no power mirrors, windows, no cruise, etc, but if you look at the model code, it is an SF model, not a GL.

Probably wont cool the rad off quite as well. It shouldnt be a problem, but you never know on a really hot day.
I ran my car all last summer at 12 psi without the fan shroud and no problems.
ya, my friends 50th was like that until he bought an electric fan!
besides if you drive it fast enough who needs fans!
