My CB7 Accord's Progression

Here’s my progression over the last 4 years with my 1992 Honda Accord EX 4 Door, 5 spd Manual.

2004: Blew the motor, brought the car to college, pulled the motor, and let the car sit for almost 2 years.

January 2006: Bought a parts car to take an f22 out of. Swapped in the newer f22a1, added all the f22a6 stuff. Purchased a few parts with some insurance money from my system getting stolen:

March 20th - March 25th 2007
Took on a spring-break, one week project. Pulled the functional F22, and swapped in the H22. Stripped the front end, painted/undercoated the engine bay. Took care of alot of little things, replaced brakes and calipers all around. And spray bombed the car the most hideous color ever.

welp.

not only did you try to polish a turd, but you repeatedly tried polishing it for 4 years.

PS: it still seems like you’re pretty deep in your ricer stage.

ah, yes, newman. good to see the same ppl are lurking here.

well, you post up pics of your shitty car, would you rather i lied to you and said it was cool?

i bought mine for 300 and she’s been good to me.

but ive just driven mine. how the fuck did you blow a stock cb7 motor??? i havent changed my oil in 40k miles and beat the piss out of it and the thing doesnt burn a drop still.

welp, you seem to know what youre doing. kinda. maybe next time pick a better platform?

lol newman

I give you alot of credit for the massive amount of work you have done and for what appears the most part on your own. That is always to be commended.

However for all the effort couldnt you just have bought any old accord for what you have into yours?

I guess you must really love that car for some reason.

i giggled

but, to each their own. you like it and thats coo

yea in retrospect, wasn’t really worth it, but things have came together now, and even though it’s not the best platform, it’s different. I’m glad to not have “just another civic”.
And it’s made me some money this year too.
I’m planning starting another project soon, just haven’t decided what yet. It is nice, knowing that each and every aspect of my car has been gone over by me, there’s not much on the car that hasn’t been replaced, so i can be confident in it. a couple times I’ve had it up to 155-160mph, and i gotta say i’d never feel comfortable doing that in a car i wasn’t 100% sure of like i can be with this. but lets not get into how stupid of an idea that is anyways…

god…i miss mine…

Yeah thats a lot of work for “just another accord” and its a 4dr. I love my 91 but I will never put money into it if I dont have to. I get comments and offers on mine on how clean it is in stock form so I have no desire to start modifying mine.

i was going to compliment you on the hard work, etc.

but then you said it made you money?

elaborate please

i’ve made a good amount of money street racing with it, NOT to say by any means that this was an investment, because I know better.
But it was nice to fund some more parts with winnings from races. Most people underestimated what a 200hp motor can do with the right tune, and some nitrous.

oh you live in syracuse!

where 15 second family sedans rule the streets.

hahah lol

I miss my accord.

I’ll give you credit for determination… in a special Olympics kind of way:

http://www.theolanders.net/johnr/724you_win_the_prize.jpg

hahaha omg thats funny

dude… cackords rule.

so how did you blow the stock motor? ive found it nearly imposable

the crank pulley somehow got chipped, unbalancing the motor, which led to a rod bearing spinning.
