Nice parts but why get it tuned on the stock ecu first before switching to EMS?
i bought emerys from his car
no, the AC was around 35 give or take. im pulling the whole interior to strip all of the sound deadening. trying to get the car as light as possible without hacking it up.
by removing the a/c and other misc. interior shit along with the sound deadening and tar ur prob looking at a good 60lbs in savings.
plus his setup may not be a/c compatible…
I see, very nice. i take it that your going to cage it? Plus I was wondering on the suspension you have because when you get moving again I would like to know what you think of it. I would like to get a nice set of coilovers for track use next season.
will do, and no, i refuse to put a cage in this car.
needs a PVC corvette “cage”/“hoop” for the track… seen a few glued in with pads to get through tech.
Cheaping out on safety is always good to do when you have a no expenses spared vehicle eh.
little update, waiting for my turbo to come back from forced performance. there was something wrong with the CHRA when spun.
buschur paid for everything to get it fixed… all shipping along with the new chra! those guys are badass!
picked up a ported stock intake mani, as well as a 65mm TB
now all i plan left to do is the tranny/clutch/injectors!
lookin good
how much power are you expecting to make?
is the stock block still healthy after the 35r? haha
yes, compression test showed everything was good.
i have no real accurate guess as to what its going to make, but i did make 526 on the DLL dyno from my final tuning pulls from this past season. i hope to blow that out of the water come spring, the car will be a lot lighter as well.
Paul, how easy was the AC removal and what needed to be removed to do so?
was super easy, took a matter of 20 minutes or so. i removed all the lines, condenser, fan, and AC pump/block bracket (didnt have remove anything else besides the AC components). the only PITA part were the lines that went back into the firewall, boy what a bitch that was… between trying to squeeze my arm between the intake manifold and block to try to get the ONE DAMN 10MM bolt loose sucked.
its amazing how much room it clears up, as well as the weight savings.
Word, thanks for the reply. Losing weight out of the rear is easy, but it’s the damn weight up front that is such a bitch to deal with.
 Ac is for pussies
so is 09/10 (sounds dumb as fuck) going to consist of building the block
yes, ill be building the motor next winter… unless i get catastrophic failure earlier than i suspect lol
Wow, you were making 526 and now you are hoping to blow that out of the water, DAMN. Personally, I wouldn’t ditch the AC if I was throwing down 526hp, are you really going to notice 60lbs? Plus, I’m a little bitch for AC. My goal is to one day have an AWD car that will light up all four.
i really dont drive the car all that much, when i do drive it, its always at night time. ill be taking out more than 60lbs after all is said and done. that 526 isnt on a true dyno, but its the best thing i got since there is jack around here for a dyno. we’ll have to see what she knocks out once its tuned again.
Ok, in a non-DD car that you are going more for performance the creature comforts then I could see ditching the AC. I had to swap a heater core in a car this week and becuase the AC didn’t work, I removed the ac stuff under the dash to access the heater core with a Sawzall. So easy to remove things that you know you are never going to re-install.
Yep, like that
