My friend got a new Ducati 848

So I took a couple pictures of it.
I am still learning and would love some constructive criticism.
Had some fun with post processing…

 Looks awesome.

I’m no expert, but I would hire you to shoot my car once it is done…

Don’t take pictures in a neighborhood. You’re trying to take pictures of the bike, you don’t want 50 distracting things in the back that are only detracting from the photo, its not like you’re using any of them as actual backdrops.

And please, don’t try and make photos interesting via post processing, focus on taking good photos, leave the filters and photoshop elements alone.

Nice bike though, I always like the white 848s. Almost picked up a 1098 when they came out but ended up with the triumph instead, they are amazing bikes, rode my bosses 1198s once, ugh… so much power

love the bike, shoulda spent the extra g for 200ccs more, i am envious though

Great looking bike, solid chicken strips too

Straighten the front wheel next time

Unless he’s a serious track guy the 1198 isn’t necessary for the street. The 848 makes over 120whp and weighs 370lbs. A 1198 is ~$3k more, probably costs a shit-ton to insure too.

Awesome bike, he’s gonna want a slip-on immediately!

what he said… also whay kind of tires he running???

Take it easy with the Lightroom sliders.

Nice bike but I’m with everyone else. If you spent half the time picking a decent location as you did over-processing the photos, this thread would be going much differently.

In my defense the last time I posted photos I was told to focus on quality before location. so I am getting better with the initial shot which is good, but I did have a little too much fun with lightroom. I just dont have an eye for what is a good looking photo as far as light vs dark and saturation/vibrance etc.

In my friends defense the bike is about 2 days old(in his possession) and has put maybe 100 miles on the bike himself.

as for the exhaust goes, he gutted the stock one, and it sounds awesome.

the last photo I cranked most of the settings just to see what it would look like, and I kinda liked it.

the exposures at least seem right (it’s in focus, not washed out, etc…)

as the others said, get a better location and concentrate on the lighting. Lighting is hard when you’re using natural light. Some things to keep in mind are, always keep the sun behind you, and pointing at the subject. Try and make sure the light is even. If it is glaring off of anything, it’s going to be difficult to get a good shot. You want nice, even light to be hitting everything in the frame (for simplicity’s sake).

Great example here is photo 1 and photo 2. In photo 1, you were on the wrong side of the bike. There was no light hitting it. In photo 2, you got it right, sun was hitting the side of the bike that you shot. Photo 6, again, wrong side of the bike.

thank you very helpful!

As for the location we didn’t have a ton of time and it was kind of spur of the moment. Thought I would get some nice shots as we were both really excited about it. He does not race the bike it is strictly for street use that I know of. There for a 1098 wasn’t necessary. That being said this bike is super nice!

My photo skills are getting better every pointer helps me get better and I appreciate it. This was not an “all out photo shoot” it was just a couple pictures of a bike. I will find out what tires he has.

pirelli diablo rossa corsa.

Even if he is a serious track guy, I’m pretty sure he’d be faster on the 848 than the 1198. The term “stupid power” comes to mind.

Yea definitely, my bike weighs 50lbs more and has 70less HP, and its fucking fast, can’t imagine how fast the 848/1198 are.

848 compares to a gsxr 750 and may be less powerful, but has more torque

rather have the duc thoughhhh
