And a big thanks to my buddy rick who helped me with all the work.

Still needs some finishing touches but it’s 95% there.

Very cool man!

Nice job dude.

finally!! now lets put this thing to work! call your neighbor for that timing belt work!

Very nice man. Your giving me flash backs when I used to do poured foundations for a year.

stupid question… how do those things go up and down? I dont see any wires/buttons/things to pull on.

Jake is a big tech buff. He opted for the new Mohawk Mind Control feature. :rofl

the controls are wired in remotely on the bench or the wall, or the spare bathroom in the house if he wanted. lol Its chased through those grey conduit tubes I assume from the pics.

there is a 220/1 power electric motor for the hydraulic control unit that’s over on the wall

you can kind of see it in the second to last pic. it’s all the way on the right above the little air compressor. It’s on a cart now but is getting mounted to the wall with some unistrut

I diden’t know t hey made lifts like that that went to an actual useful height. Never saw any that went up more than 3-4 feet.

Awesome, where did you find it? How much?

i’m only not mad at this because it’s a Mohawk. Nice work, it looks fucking cool in there.

Why this style lift over a side post style?

To me it seems like its gonna be a pain to do stuff like brakes and suspension work on this type.

It appears as though 1) his floor wasn’t thick enough for a 2 post 2) lack of ceiling height.

brakes & suspension will be the same on this as a 2 post, exhaust, transmission, etc is going to blow monkey cocks though.

after seeing this i’m considering building one / buying one and installing it in a spare normally flat bay in the new shop for lifting heavy objects from below (engines and equipment on pallets) i’m fucking sick of chaining shit to lift arms. LOL

I thought you may approve

my garage is 28 x 32. I didn’t want a post in the middle of it. when this is down it’s out of sight and I can roll anything right over the top of it. I can also lift 1 side at a time and use it as a bike lift with a wheel chalk. a used 2 post would have been a cheaper option and a lot less work, but when this is down it’s out of my way and I like that about it.

ceiling is just shy of 10’ and floor was 6" deep (now 10" under the tables). It really only comes down to having a giant pol in the middle of my garage.

the tables pick up on the pinch welds so breaks, tires, suspension and all that stuff is fine to work on. It doesn’t restrict anything on the s2k. I have 32" between the frame rails and that’s plenty of room for transmission work, exhaust etc.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h135/jacobennis/Ap2_Underside_View_zps2d858e7f.jpg

yea i figured the arms swung to the pinch weld, the pics are really deceiving it didn’t look like you’d have 32" between the two table tops. that’s awesome. The floor pic was also really deceiving, it sure don’t look like 6" of 'crete!!!

our garages are very close footprint wise.

Jealous.

i’m not even going to use those arms, just going to use the tables themselves and put a 3m rubber coating on top of it, or get the top part sprayed in line-x. I’ll keep the arms around for the tractor and stuff but don’t need them with the s2k.

Your garage looks a lot larger than mine, but my iphone pics are very deceiving as well.

nah it’s only 30x30
