Hey, I enjoy the thread!
Thanks Joe. You’re probably the only one…
Eh, who cares. It’s a car forum, if people don’t like the thread, they can choose not to open it…or piss off…
I have a feeling I’ll get roped into this
Lol. I was actually going to shoot you a text when I had all the shit I needed ready to go. You free in a week or two?
That’s way to far away
Decided to fuck around with the fog lights yesterday. And by fuck around, I mean I checked the fuse. It was blown. Installed new fuse and promptly popped that one too. There’s a hell of a short somewhere, so I guess I gotta track down a wiring diagram.
About two hours worth of effort and an investment of exactly 0 dollhairs, I have successfully deleted the SAS pump. I will hopefully never have a P0410 code again as long as I own the car.
I decided to go for a drive cycle and pick up something to celebrate…
I have these cels-
p0420 (going to try a rear O2 spacer)
about 4 different evap leak codes
something for variable valve timing
i only remember the 420 one because 420 WASSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Well, P0420=
The control module continuously checks three-way catalytic converter (TWC) efficiency by comparing signals from the rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) with the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-4801 (on VADIS) will be stored if the efficiency of the three-way catalytic converter (TWC) deviates too much.
Substitute value-
Rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) control is disabled.
Possible causes?
-misfiring
-air leakage in the intake system
-air leakage in the exhaust system
-faulty fuel pressure
-uneven compression
-defective three-way catalytic converter (TWC).
I’d try and track down the causes of the other stuff first.
My beer thing went off
Lol…
All of those weren’t half bad, either. The Dirty Bastard is one of my favs and I really enjoyed the Conway’s Irish Ale, having never had it before. All in all, a nice reward to myself for a job well done…not that I accomplished anything spectacular.
It’s been a month (or so) and the light has stayed off. I’d call that a small win. Still haven’t found the time to do the PCV service and it’s driving me nuts that I just can’t find the time…
Have to also try my best at conditioning the leather seats as well. The driver’s outer bolster has started to crack now.
PCV service is finally done. Cleaned the PTC and changed the oil too. What a cunt. Broke some old vacuum lines, which was expected and a bolt, which was not. Adam swore a lot and I had a sad. Took six fucking hours. He will most likely not help me with anything on this POS ever again and I can’t really blame him.
Next?
I had a bunch of these cars, from N/A to GLT to T5… Loved them and they tore through the miles all had well over 100k on them. I got used to doing timing belts and front wheel bearings.
Best of luck and keep this thread alive!
Yes! I love it…
Thanks. It’s good to have some motivation to keep plugging away at this. It was seeming rather dismal just recently and it’s going to take me a while to do everything I want to the car, but It’ll get done.
Been slacking on this as of late…and for good reason. My wife gave birth to our second child (a beautiful baby girl) on the 13th. She was 8lbs. 9oz. and 20.5in long. She’s perfect.
I’ve got shit to get ordered though. Need to order an intake manifold vacuum “T” then drill out the broken bolt that holds that down, replace a bunch of vacuum lines, and the cooling tube for the ECUs. Need to get the front pads and rotors done. My boy Larry is going to come out to the house so we can finally get this thing all cleaned up and the seats conditioned. . . it’ll be more of a “preserve and protect” detail just to try and save what’s there. Still need to finalize what I’m going to do with the suspension and the heater core that I replaced before winter hit has given me signs that it too, may be on the way out. Again. I got the A/C working though, If that’s any consolation…
The saga continues.
Congratulations on the baby! Good luck with the car. I love seeing your updates on it.
