meh. I know where you are coming from, but I just dont see it that way. government intervention is bad. And with the implementation of many of the other libertarian policies (such as the abolition of the Federal Income Tax), companies will still be able to pay their american workers good wages and be competetive on a global scale.
See WWI/WWII and the reason it started, cause we left it alone and it got SO fucking bad we had to do something. You can’t stand aside forever and the longer you wait to get involved the higher the casualities are. I’m all for getting Sadaam out of Iraq and trying to gain ways to control terrorism, but I’m not for dropping in a democracy as a result of that. I think we went in but went in without a proper “what now” plan, and this is the result, but I’m not gonna sit here bitch and moan and cry about it I’m gonna support the troops and decisions made. God forbid they might actually no more than me about foreign affairs and issues, I’m surely not gonna armchair quarterback it like everyone else.
you cant really compare WWII to anything today. I agree that there is a time and a place to get involved. But we need to seriously reconsider exactly what constitutes going to war. We attacked Iraq for invading Kuwait. We invaded Iraq and Afghanistan? Who are we to say that its ok for us to invade countries, and then attack others that do the same? We act like we own the world. Its bullshit. And its the reason everyone hates the US.
and boo fucking hoo to the whiners in this thread. If you didnt want to read it, dont fucking click on it. This is the off-topic forum. We can talk about whatever the hell we want. Arguing about politics and foreign policy is better than “Supras are the best”…“no, LS1’s are the best”…“NO, SUPRAS ARE THE BEST!!!”…“NOOOO, LS1’s are the BEST!!!”
that’s something i want more info on… seems logical and could really help out small business… i tried to get to that expo on it @ teh pallace inn or whatever in monroeville, it was packed…
And then we would have a system like canada which you would pay 15% on almost everything including your food from the grocery store which is not taxed.
The money has to come from some place to run the country, if its not one it will be coming from another ans you will still be fronting the bill.

I think what silver is saying is that steping in now is better than waiting till shit blows up again so we can add WWIII, WWIV, WWV and so forth to the history books.
I would seriously be afraid of the day when we abolish taxes and abolish tariffs(sp). You can’t run a government on nothing. Government intervention has to be there, you have to have laws, regulations, and everything else. I mean shit look at Communism, in a hippy happy world you would think that would be great, but people aren’t created equal and cause of that you have to have laws, regulations, and chains of esclation.
Sounds like we need lots of beers and wing to talk about this anyways hehe…
Hatred, we’ve always been hated since day 1 nothing new there. As for relevance to WWI/WWII when we tried to “stay out of foreign affair business” we ended up having to go anyways. There was a shit ton more death, abuse, and horrors of war. A little blood now is a lot better than more blood later on. It’s just like anything else bad in life, you can’t ignore it and hope it goes away you have to do something. We are damned if we do, damned if we don’t.
