rausch creek the weekend of the 23rd there is a raptor event… I am going with my rover and meeting a friend with a raptor there… we will be wheeling all weekend ( they have a raptor course)… if you actually want to use it instead of parking on some dirt piles =)
Yes I had planned on hitting up the Rausch Creek Raptor Run III but throwing a bachelor party on the 23rd, if I wasn’t the best man it would be different. My brother lives in Carlisle which is only an hour away so there will be a few trips down there.
The dirt pile parking was for photo ops only…lol. For the two months I’ve had the truck it’s seen its far share of pressure washer baths and airborne flights…lol.
Are there any other local “legal” places around WNY that you take the Rover to, or are aware of?
I went to the last one and also the smaller one in June. Great group of guys and had a great time. The one on the 23rd is the smaller course set up by Jason and Mark… awesome guys! That place is hell on our trucks but the raptor eats that course up. I had plan on attending again but wife is 7 1/2 months pregnant so maybe next year.
all I can think of for trails that are legal close to us around here is whispering pines in lyons… but that might be meh for a raptor… they do bring them there tho…
I also heard first weekend of sept there will be some offroading and beer fest at kissingbridge?
I have to admit when I saw your truck I became jealous and ordered one similar to yours. I opted for the bead lock wheels and did a muffler man shop exhaust. But I want to go do some off roading so I will be on the look out for some events.
Guys are putting together events and meets all the Time; mostly out west though. GLRE (Great Lakes Raptor Excursions) puts on the Rausch Creek ¶ and the Snow Ball (MI) events which are closest to us locally. I’ve actually considered selling my Raptor because of having to travel to “legally” off road and the fact I don’t have much time to travel with a 2 1/2 year old and another on the way in October. Right now it feels like I have a glorified pick-up with a 5 1/2 foot bed. I love the truck though.
Did you get it yet and when did you order? I know they were shutting down production shortly after my delivery, curious if they kept it open a little longer. I was going to go with beadlocks from Ford but fell in love with some aftermarkets I saw. Will be running current stocks in winter and new setup come spring.
NYSpeed Raptor off-road event?
Not sure if I could go back to a standard truck after owning this, don’t sell…you will regret. Plus I’m looking at 45 acres in Elma, all I need is about 5 acres for a house and play area for the kids. I plan on making the remaining 40 acres play land for my raptor, skidoo and soon to be side by side
I did the cutout and wiring all myself, was fairly simple and for under $300 it’s sound amazing. Very mellow and chugs at idle and absolutely screams at WOT. The thing I love too is being able to close it when I want, especially when the kids are sleeping in the back…lol.
I miss a sporty vehicle to be honest. I’m undecided what I’m doing at the moment but I know I’ll miss the Raptor. Maybe I’m just going through with drawls.
I like that Idea, land to mess around on just for your Raptor. I just went to a turn-down exhaust before the rear axle and I have mix feelings on the sound… I did that because Raush Creek destroyed my last exhaust and if i ever go back there I don’t want to destroy this one.
I am leaving fri night will be camping there… if you do head down look for me in my silver rover (im guessing you know what it looks like)… there will be a bunch of us in defenders and a few raptors.
