So, as you may know from me posting in the past, similar to how the ‘cam only’ drag racing list is popular, and highly competitive with LS-powered cars, there is a pretty big competition in the Evo community using the stock turbo. Rules are simple, you can mod your car as much as you want, however you want, but you have to have a stock turbo.
3 years ago, Brian (most-wanted) went 10.21 @ 133 mph, which was at the time the fastest ET and MPH ever on the stock turbo. No one has beat him since.
2 years ago, I went 11.010 @ 124.55 mph in my '03 Evo, securing 4th place for the year.
Last year, i went 10.635 @ 128.71 mph, which was 1st place ET and MPH for the year, and 2nd place ever (possibly 3rd place, since Curt Brown may have done it before the list was created).
This year, I was lighter than ever, and making more power than ever, and I was gunning for that top spot, but I ended up selling the car to Luis in NJ. Last night he went to the track and ran a 10.7 @ 132 mph, with only a 1.5 60’ time. In comparison, I cut low 1.4 60’s when I ran my 10.6’s.
So, knocking on the door for the highest MPH of all time, just over 1 mph to go, and then he is quickly approaching that ET goal as well. That Evo chassis is a fucking beast :bigtup:
Yeah, but I sold it to someone who can use it more than me! He lives right next to Englishtown Raceway, and he used to have a 10 second N/A Civic, so he can drive very well.
Best yet is he owns a tow truck company, so he can tow it when it breaks down :lol:
He hasn’t done a thing. Just bought it from me, and drove it at the track! His next step is to bolt on a big turbo, but he is enjoying the stock turbo for now
