A) What exactly is brat style? Some of them look like bobbers and them some of them look like bobbers with knobby.
B) That bike looks great-kinda looks like a British parallel twin but I know it’s not due to the primary cover shape. What is it?
C) There is a dude on the shops site who’s name is Shimano-awesome
A. Brat Style is a shop in Japan that builds a somewhat unique brand of bobber (at least as unique as any other builder) - more often than not based off of smaller displacement Japanese bikes. Similar characteristics of most of their bikes seem to include lowered but otherwise stock suspension, often, frame modifications to lower the seating area, slab/moto inspired seats, and otherwise many of the other features common to other “bobbers”.
Yes, they are basically a bobber, but if you go through the shops gallery and your average gallery of “bobbers” you will find there are some characteristics common to bikes from that shop that set them somehow apart (just as you would find from many other prolific builders).
Now in terms of whether or not it’s a true “style”, the build style of this shop has been copied enough times that the name is starting to become something like “Q-Tip” or “Kleenex”. Even in this context it’s as grossly misused just as much as bobber and chopper often are.

When I think of misused terms, Café is the first thing that comes to mind! Some douche nozzle finds some pile of garbage in a garage and it’s instantly a Café bike.
