i don’t understand your thought process here (partially because i’m trying to sell you my tranny, but mostly because it’s DUMB)… you’re willing to spend $1000+ to have a trans rebuilt instead of buying a perfectly good used transmission from me with 44k on it for $200??? REALLY??? You do realize the trans has to come out to be rebuilt … right??

$200 thats cheap as hell. Who the hell wants to waste time and money rebuilding some old ass broken p.o.s when there is ten trillion other working units laying around. (namely waynes) Pull it, junk it, and throw a working one in. Would take about 6hrs tops. Especially on a car with stock exhaust manifolds, because all you have to do is drop the intermediate pipe and nothing is in the way.

Yeah he has done it to his own vehicle. His case proves our point. he keeps rebuilding the same p.o.s and throwing it in. He isnt doing anything wrong, though, just running a giant converter and 500hp HARD thru a stock AODE (which is an even bigger p.o.s than your AOD). Your car is stock, which is why im saying just swap another unit in.

I thought you guys were fucking with me about his Trans, but if you guys are serious, I’ll talk to my mom’s bf about it. If he thinks we should grab it then I will.
I bought this car so I can get into working on cars again and learning so that I don’t have to bring my car in every time it makes a noise, so if I do buy it and you do put it in, I wanna help and you’ll have to put up with teaching me. 
I’ll have to wait and see what the verdict is when Dan comes home from vacation. He’s not even positive it has to be rebuilt but neither of us has a free day to spend figuring out exactly what’s wrong.
He said he tinkered with it the other day and it’s shifting into 2nd and 3rd fine now, but it still shifts into 1st hard. shrugs
ummmmmmmmm pass on the teaching and the help with the install, but i’ll still sell you the trans.
