just picked up a 455 with a Th400 and extras for next to nothing and it was rebuilt and everything.:wiggle:

im thinking for my color scheme it will be yellow with the black 442 stripes down the center or orange with white stripes. maybe even black with white.
what do you guys think

I have seen the yellow with black and orange with white and not a fan of either. It just didn’t seem to fit the body.
I have a friend with a 69 Olds 442 that is a brown with the black stripes and I think that is gorgeous. Also blue with the white stripes.
But it’s your car, do what you want.
if you’re looking for a newer style paint job go with flat black or gunmetal with pearl white stripes, i seen is once on a newer charger and couldn’t believe how amazing it looked
Personally, I’d like a subtle black cherry metallic, with a clean white or silver stripe job. Cutlass / 442’s were a mature street machine. Dark colors look amazing on them.
Yea I was throwing around the idea of a darker color maybe even black.
I don’t know, I think the red color it’s painted now looks fantastic. Really gives some contrast to the black top, Maybe just buff it up a little to give it a deeper shine
Yellow would look “wrong” on your car, for lack of a better word.
The paint job sucks and im not sure if im keeping the top lol.
So engine sitting here getting ready to do something with it over winter, what direction do you think I should go with it? the 455 of course.
Im really considering a darker color after much thought, esp a black cherry like above but more redder.

As for the 455, make it look stock under the hood. Olds look so cool stock under the hood. But build the shit out of it.

Well the starter went on the 350, so I guess this is the perfect excuse to put in the 455 lol pics to come.
iv seen this a couple times at southgate im pretty pumped to see what you do to it. as for the motor go big so what if it pisses gas and shits money youll forget about that problem when your hualin ass in it. my camino gets 8 to the gallon cost me 75 bucks a week to drive it for 2-3 days but whatever its to fun to care
