My Regal

cool build.
How do you like the Demon carb?

Well the Demon blowthru carbs are getting a bad rap, However they are good and perform well they are just a little tricky to tune. My buddy has demon 625 BT on his turbo mustang and it works unbelievably good but it’s maxed out because of the size but still is perfect for the current setup. I’m really good friends with the guy who tuned it and he said he’d help me out if I had troubles with it.
But I’m going to stick with it. there is nothing wrong at all with any holley blowthru but I like the features that come standard on the demon and they look very well too. Peices of art.

Got the engine in lastnight, today I put the painted valve covers on and set the intake down on the engine checking for any conflicts which there were none yet only I haveto figure out where to connect my power brakes and boost gauge feed. I might make a spot on the intake but all my plumbing for that stuff starts with a 1/2" npt and the biggest npt accessory port on the new carb is 1/8".

when do you anticipate this car hitting the streets?

this is such a nice build:bowdown:

Well this car has been on the streets, it’s only been off streets and in the garage for about 2 weeks now. Seriously This car should be finished thursday night/fridaynight this week. There is a dyno session at tony’s streets dreams this saturday june 21st and I’m on the list to run the car, so I absolutly must have it done… but if for some reason it or I don’t make it there is another dyno session June 28th the following saturday and I’ll participate in that one.

Thanks GNocide!
and perhaps maybe even some day when I’m not so burntout from of doing body work and painting my '66 Riviera GS. I’ll paint this regal, even though I kinda dig the faded factory paint, cuz I can lean on it, sit on it and it’s OK.
I knew ome of you people out there would really appreciate this build.
And I thank you.

I love this build because it’s a down to earth normal person build. You’re doing it in your garage, and you’re not sinking 10g’s into it. Blue-collar Pittspeed ftw.

Okay progress is going well, almost finished and will probably be ready to start tomorrow, however a last minute intake manifold change occured. I managed to get my hands on a very rare extreme performance manifold. This is a Smokey Yunick/Weiand Single plane very close in style to the the x-elerator manifold I was going to run. Supposibly this is the first aftermarket air gap intake that was engineered by Mr. Yunick and Weiand. So it’s a sweet peice of history and I’m proud to have it on my car and be able to use it too, not just sit it on a work bench in my garage and talk about it.

Cool!

Alright 3.42 gears are in, and all I have left is ALL the fluids, fab up a short 3" pipe to connect the exhaust after the cut out, install carb and all the good stuff that goes with that and I also have to relocate my nitrous activation switch the rest is easy.

good luck

Had a great Time attending and participating in the chassis dyno @ Tony’s Street Dreams Sat Jue 21st.
I saw A lot of nice cars and some big numbers as well as meeting some new people that day.
I finally got to run my Regal after the last of the front drives. the Buick put down 400ft/lbs and about 300 hp to the wheel. I was plenty happy with that there is a lot more power in the car but I had no time to find and tune for it. I got the car finished 7 hours before the dyno and didn’t even drive it with the new intake carb and transmision untill I was on my way up to morgantown that morning. The carb needs tuned really bad I had done a little tuning before getting on the dyno but stopped because I was getting burnt and I was honestly tired from being in the sun and working late on the car late and into the morning. I made the pulls in 3rd gear with no help from the turbo xs boost controller which I removed earlier that day because it wasn’t working right, so I was relying on a 7 lb waste gate spring, running 12 degrees timing total ( I fogot my timing light), while spraying 100 shot from the NX wet fogger kit. If the car had an intercooler and the carb was tuned it and I could have cranked up the boost a lot, it easily would have made those numbers or more with out the nitrous.

That’s really impressive!

Alright I’m more settled in my new garage now and I managed to pay some of my lowes card off do Ihad soke money left over so I founda good deal on a AEM Uego wideband and a Grandnational sparco intercooler all for $330 so i’ll be able to get this Regal tuned in and intercooled now, kep you updated as this happens.

This build is sick, keep up the good work. The dyno sheet points to much more left in this car!

Wow, can’t believe I missed this thread. Great job on the build and I can’t wait to see the car when you’re done.

We need to put together a Turbo Regal meet.

Absolutely Blazin.
Thanks for checkin out the build.

Currently I’m getting the BG Mighty Demon dialed in. I just got my jet kit in yesterday
and two days before that I got the AEM uego wideband installed.
SOON tuned and Tweaked
