Attorney General Corbett announces arrest of Internet predator in Allegheny County; 180th arrest by Child Predator Unit

HARRISBURG - Attorney General Tom Corbett today announced that agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit have arrested an Allegheny County man accused of using an Internet chat room to sexually proposition what he believed was a 13-year old girl, as well as sending nude photos to the girl. The “girl” was actually an undercover agent from the Child Predator Unit using the online profile of a child.

Corbett identified the defendant as Daniel Paul Tejchman, 25, 9832 Presidential Drive, Allison Park.

Corbett said that Tejchman, using the screen name “teckdwg,” allegedly used an Internet chat room to approach an undercover agent using the online profile of a 13-year old girl.

According to the criminal complaint, Tejchman exchanged photographs with the girl during their first online chat - initially sending her a photo of a fully clothed male. Tejchman then allegedly asked the girl, “u wanna c a pic of 1,” sending her a photo that showed a man exposing his penis. Tejchman also allegedly asked the girl, “do u wear cute panties?”

Corbett said that Tejchman approached the girl online a second time, questioning if anyone else knew about the nude photo and adding, “u wanna c it again?” At that point, Tejchman allegedly sent the girl another copy of the original nude photo, asking her, “u like it?”

Tejchman was arrested on December 16th, in Ross Township, Allegheny County, by agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit, assisted by officers from the Ross Township Police Department.

Corbett said that agents also executed a search warrant at Tejchman’s residence, assisted by McCandles Township Police, seizing computers and data storage devices. Those items will be analyzed by the Attorney General’s Computer Forensics Unit as part of an ongoing investigation.

Tejchman is charged with two counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count of criminal use of a computer, all third-degree felonies which are each punishable by up to seven years in prison and $15,000 fines.

Tejchman was preliminarily arraigned before Hampton Township Magisterial District Judge Regis C. Welsh, Jr. and lodged in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, December 19th, before Magisterial District Judge Welsh.

Corbett thanked the Ross Township and McCandles Township Police Departments for their cooperation and assistance with this investigation.

Internet Dangers

Corbett said that since the creation of the Child Predator Unit in January 2005, agents have arrested 180 Internet predators from across Pennsylvania and several other states, including 69 arrests so far this year - more than any other previous year.

Corbett cautioned parents and children to be alert for strangers, posing as online friends, who sexually proposition them, send explicit photos or videos or try to arrange face-to-face meetings. He encouraged parents to discuss Internet safety with their children, including the danger of meeting strangers who approach them online, and actively monitor their kids’ online activities.

“Predators know that kids become more active online as the weather turns colder and the days grow shorter, and they also know that more young people are home unsupervised, either before or after school,” Corbett said. “Time and distance mean nothing to Internet predators because computer technology allows them to reach across the street, or across the country, to ‘groom’ young victims for sexual meetings or to flood their computers with sexually graphic photos and videos.”

Suspected Internet predators can be reported to the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit by using the “report a predator” link, located on the front page of the Attorney General’s website, at www.attorneygeneral.gov, or by calling the Child Predator Hotline, at 1-800-385-1044.

i think these child predator units are all a bunch of closet fags. Every time you hear about someone getting busted like this, you hear about how they got the guy to send pics of his junk. Whats up with that?
