so i have been reading on twinturbo.net about a natt and the owner is in alberta was wondering does anyone know the owner with a convertible naTT 300zx? litlte interested in how it runs and is it worth it
Yes I know him (assuming you’re talking about screenname “ConverTT”). He’s in Calgary. What would you like to know specifically? Did you need his email contact?
AFAIK he did the install himself but had Reg Riemer (at RCTS ? - can’t remember if I got the shop name right) in Calgary due the “tuning” for him.
What I do know is he’s viewing his project as more of an experiment right now. Twin turbocharging the NA engine is a rather unorthodox approach. He’s got an old jspec VG30DETT lying around as a backup which he plans to eventually swap in. So he doesn’t have too much to lose if he blows the NA engine.
If you stick with a boosted NA engine, you will ultimately be limited by how much boost you can safely run. IIRC, he’s making roughly the same power as a stock TT, but I don’t know how much upwards potential he has from there with that setup.
I don’t know if you really want to use his specific project as your roadmap, but it depends what you want. It may in fact be a cheaper way to go in the shortterm, but you’d probably have to ask him.
#1 tip, if you don’t have lots of money, don’t experiment much with cars haha
