good lookin out

i know there are a bunch of mgt grads on the board

great opportunity for those with the right skillz

can’t hurt to throw in an application, I have a degree just no banking experience.

I have a ba degree from NU with a concentration in finacne and a minor in accouting with almost a year into M&T. I am just wondering if they will take someone that has not been out of school for a year but has a good degree with some work experience?

Definitely good opportunities. I wish there was something going on part-time for noobs like me with crazy school schedules :frowning:

somehow i knew this wouldnt have any investment banking but i clicked anyway. GL to those who apply

agreed

There is relatively little in investment banking in Buffalo as compared to a lot of larger cities. The investments that we do at GBSB are mainly for our internal funding and investing for cash flow purposes, and that is part of what I do. To really get into investment banking I’d look towards the financial hub cities.

There are a decent amount of good entry level positions on there, so don’t be concerned if you don’t have banking experience for a lot of them, just read the job descriptions. There are probably going to be some new positions up there soon, I will update it when they are posted.

If anyone has any specific questions about a position, feel free to PM me and I will tell you what I can about them.

any idea on pay? I’ve got 1 yr exp at M&T, I jsut dont want to laterall, I need to move up… ~30k per year is my target

Sorry, but I can’t comment on salaries for confidentiality reasons.

Do you guys have an REO/foreclosure division?

The mortgage banking division deals with all of that stuff, but there has recently been some organizational change over there so I’m not positive what they are doing with all of that.

I work in treasury…

denton look here

any of these entry level positions good for somebody expecting to graduate in a year from UB with a degree in finance? or do all these jobs require an existing degree… thanks for the headsup

I’m not that familiar with all of the positions. I would check the descriptions.

As with most companies, having a higher education than the position requires can make up for having somewhat less experience than the posting states. This is of course dependent on the education being relevant, the specific position, and the hiring manager’s discretion.

They have a good benefits package, and there is a full gym in the office. You do need to wear a suit every day but Friday, though.

typically 9-5 jobs…? this semester is no good for me due to mon-thurs 9am-2pm for classes

what kind of weekend hours can i expect for a teller position?

Internal teller positions and any of the non-branch positions would likely be M-F 8/9-5. Any positions at branches would be dependent on that specific branch’s hours of operation, which are listed on the website.

if only i didnt just get a decent job :lolham:
