my plan is to get koni yellow shocks on eibach pro springs and i was wondering if that is a good combo or should i just get a complete coilover system instead.
Research dude.
It depends on what you wanna do with your car mostly.
Its a great combo but you will only lower about 2" and thats plenty enough but some of the zilvia wanabe fanboys wana slam the car 3-4" (not good for your car’s suspension). You’re making a good decision if you want comfort/compliance and performance. The illusion of stiffness/harshness as being ‘performance’ is not necessarily true. The job of the shocks/dampers is to dampen road irregularities…
I have slightly more fancy konis and couldnt be happier :)… however I have also ground control coilovers and eibach race springs… you could get GC sleeves and ERS springs but it gets a bit more expensive. You’re making a good bang for your buck decision as opposed to going along with the flow and just buying whatever is out there for a thousand bucks ish. Everyone will probably try to convince you the other way to get megans, stance, ksports, the run of the mill coilovers with questionable dampers. Yes they work but how well… then it becomes a debate and people can get emotional for stupid reasons but do your research. If you want to know about suspension setups for our cars go to www.nissanroadracing.com and read a bit.
+1
Get them…or you will regret it if you plan on doing any lapping!!! Thats all I have to say…
Im willing to bet the performance of this combo will be better than the run of the mill thousand dollar coil-over system most people usually install. Go to a local auto slolom or solosprint…most of the winners are not rocking megan/D2/low end japenese coil-overs.
koni yellows and some ground controls. People have used this setup for almost twenty years. Super durable and robust. Not like 1500 coils that last for two years.
