I need a front left stock brembo 2006 STI caliper due to a broken bolt. I know this is a long shot here but I hate to pay the stupid Subaru price. If you have one I need it tomorrow (Thursday) morning! I’ve got no wheels!
Thank you

why would a broken bolt require a new caliper? wouldn’t you just extract the bolt?
cross threaded to much?
I can help you repair it. PM me.
The problem is the hardened steel bolts into aluminum gull locking the threads. The shoulder of the bolt through the spindle bracket is a tight clearance so it doesn’t want to turn. I automatically helicoil all the brembo threads as soon as I can.
Fix = extract bolt (drill if needed) = insert helicoil
I actually took it to a machine shop. They said it was a pain in the ass but they got it. Dissimilar metal corrosion is a bitch. He also said it looked like the previous owner used some locktite or something. What an asshole.
Thanks for your offers for help. Subaru charged $700+ for a new one. Stupid.
What did the machine shop charge to fix it?

Sounds like markup but those calipers aren’t cheap. Glad you got it fixed.
