Need computer help

My laptop got the blue screen of death last week and crapped out on me. I went through everything and found that my HDD took a shit. I picked up a new HDD and loaded my windows 7 on it, but the problem I’m having is that all of my Dell specific drivers / software (wireless access, etc) are obviously not on this HDD. I picked up the SATA data transfer wire and am able to recover just about everything off the old HDD so does someone know what folder I should look for to get all the drivers/software. There is a recover partition on the drive that I believe I can access as well.

Also, can I just transfer the folders over to the new HDD and magically have everything work???:dunno If not, what else do I need to do.

And no, I do not have any of my recovery disks. I had a box with all of that in there… including my brand new office 2010 discs that were only loaded once (onto the laptop when I bought it), but that box is MIA since the move.

Kenny, if you go to support.dell.com you can load in your Service tag # (located undeneath it on a sticker probably) and it will give you a list of drivers and software you can download.

As far as transferring software over, you can’t recover actual programs. You have to reload them.

programs I’m not too worried about. I just want to be able to get my damn laptop working. With the exception of my office 2010…which really sucks. I wish I could find the damn box.

If it was factory dell Installtion on the old drive it should be listed under the Main C:\ under Drivers or it maybe in a folder called dell with the drivers folder in there.

If not, get on a machine with the interwebs and go to support.dell.com like bakarian said type in your model number or service tag and grab the appropriate drivers

spell my name right you fuckface
