Hey guys i am new to the forum. So far very helpfull info. Picked up a 1999 Max from my friend at a great price but the tranny is no good. Can anyone tell me where i can get a tranny in the GTA for a good price.

www.car-part.com is a good place to start you can punch in what you are looking for and where you live, how far away you are willing to look. It will tell you the closest auto wreckers

whats the dif between locking and non locking…
the car has a short shifter on it
unfortunately I can;t help you with that one, I have no idea
locking and non-locking is the LSD I think.
I’ve been doing some reading and apparently there is an issue with the tranny’s, in paticular the bearings.
Something to do with shiming at the manufactor level.
I’ve decided to go the route of rebuilding vs buying. If i buy used it will be a matter of time before i run into the same problem.
