Looking to get my first Audi… debating between a CPO low mileage 13 or 14 model. Any recommendations on what features are a must, trim levels (premium, premium plus, Prestige)? or should I wait for a 2015.
Thanks

My only advice to you, is to shop at Audi Rochester.
get a new A3!!
6 Speed Manual
Premium Plus (prestige is nice, but more expensive and then you can get “S” Line)
MMI Navigation
B&O stereo for sure is a must have.
why not get a cpo 12 or 13 s4, not much more and IMO a much better value
i had one for a loaner and was not impressed at all, i honestly think my prius has a better build quality
Thought about a 12 or 13 s4 but for the same price range you’re looking at 25-35k miles, which is more mileage than I want. Lots of 14 premiums with >10k miles
Get the best package you can find.
CPO is a good deal. Massive price discounts over new and still warranty. I bought my A6 Sline CPO and it only needed a couple small things, but it was nice not to have to do it myself or pay for it.
I shopped Auto trader. Found the exact car I wanted. It was at DCH in NJ. It was cheaper to drive there to check it out, buy it, fly one way to NYC, to pick it up and drive back than buying a lesser car locally.
Audi’s are a dime a dozen in NJ. There are dealers on every street corner. Lot’s of CPO to choose from. DCH was a decent dealer.
I’ve done this twice for vehicles (1 one way rental, 1 one way plane ticket). When I bought my Expedition I even went to a local dealer and told him the price I was paying the next day for basically the same truck he had on his lot, showed him the ad and the blank check from Capital One, and told him I’d buy the one on his lot right now if he could match their price. Next day I was in a rental car on my way to Detroit to pick up my Expedition.
I hear nothing but good things about the A3, except no man pedal. I’m not sure thats a priority for you, but if it is not I would definitely check it out. I’ve sat in a few and they all impress me. I’m not sure where the Prius comment comes from…
I drove a new A3 the other day and I thought it drove really nice. A major complaint that would keep me from buying it is the electric power steering has ZERO feel to it. I hope they sort this for the S3 that I wanted to drive. If you want a stick you might have to look at the Golf R. I have seen two B8 audi A4 avant 2.0 manuals crossing the grand island bridge… I don’t know how they got them but I want one.
I found a super clean A6 at Schmitt’s and loved it. I was ready to buy it but they were jerks. I’ve never liked them ever actually. I went to buy the car and the salesman was off that day even though he told me he would be there. I spoke to someone else and he treated me like I was bothering him. I told him that I was looking to buy the car. It was like I was pulling teeth, but he finally spoke with me. I asked what kind of am deal they could do and he asked me if I saw the price on the window. I said yes, and he said there you that’s the price. But what sealed the deal was then he turned his back on me and walked away.
That was it, I walked out and got on Auto trader and found my car. I picked it up a couple days later in NJ and drove it home. The first place I went was Schmitt’s. Parked it right by the door and walked in. The salesman saw me and asked if I still was interested in the car. I said, nope I just bought a better one that was $3000 less, sorry.
I still go there for parts and always park right in the same place. The license plate frames say DCH Milburn and more than a few people have commente on them when I have been there. I am glad to tell them this story.
The 3.0t is much more reliable than the 2.0t. The s4 also had many features standard compared to a4. The s4 also holds its value much better so in the end its a better choice. I was in same situation as you and shopped around until I found the perfect options and price. I don’t regret my decision one bit. I’d take a 30k mile s4 over a brand new a4 any day

uhhhh? You sure about that? lol
I would bet your life on it. From my understanding they could be ordered in the US for 1 or 2 years but the avant was brought in only when ordered, since no dealers wanted to stock them in the US
Damn. Didn’t know that.
Manual avants are rare as fuck.
This is pretty solid.
You sure they weren’t B7 Avants? I have never once seen a b8 manual anywhere and never heard the manual “special order story” on anywhere…
I have a b7 avant 6 speed BTW
Well it looks like im going with a low mileage 14 Allroad Premium Plus with MMI… its in Cleveland so stay tuned.
I am just speechless on the performance of what a tune does on a 2.0t. 210hp stock - 328hp with apr tune!
