Im in the middle of putting the sr20 back together, but i cant seem to find the little bracket that holds the trottle cable in place, check out the pics

That looks like your bracket, just ground away. You could either whip out the welder and weld together a new one, which is relatively simple, because that piece isn’t terribly complicated, get one out of your KA or something and make it work, or put a big washer on each side of the nuts to pinch it on.
