Say i have a dead stock fuel pump … instead of dropping my tank and buying a $275 pump … could i just run a big inline pump ??? would it pull through the old one ??
That’s a very interesting question. I have a feeling it wouldn’t work but I can’t say for sure. I’d just drop the tank and replace it, but that’s me.
what car is this on?
My luck i would end up breaking the strap bolts … or something else …
if it completely dies … i might try it
the truck died on me twice today … im gonna assume it was the pump
99 Silverado 1500
Ew. Do it right.
Rockauto prices that pump at 168, or 182 depending on what type of pump it has in it.
There is usually a 5 percent discount code floating around also. That would save you an extra 8 or 10 bucks or whatever.
Essentially the shipping.
Also no tax…
I wouldn’t worry about breaking the strap bolts really. I’d worry more about breaking the lines on top of the sending unit haha.
Same thing happened on my 02…the jobs not to bad but mine took a shit on the coldest day of this past winter and having water drip on you sucks…hopefully the ring around the top of the tank isnt to rotted…oh and be careful with the evap lines on the top of the tank but im sure you already knew that
Hence the reason i just want to install a trick flow inline … broken and rotted shit will add up fast
