need to build a new comp.

whatta mean get rid of? I’ll take one. I need it for my case.

i’ve got one of these right now. (7) 80mm fans, and most of them are tornado equivalents. i probably have a few spares laying around if you really need one.

time for big fans!

I need an 80mm for my side panel. I’ve got an 80mm on the back 2 120mm on the front to cool the HDDs and a 200mm on the top.

you have a fan controller? the tornado’s are real loud

i’m sure i have some of the standard thermaltake 80’s around, i’ll check when i get home.

 Does your shit hover? That thing must sound like an idling jet.

The Antec 900 has a pretty nice whir to it…

it sounds like a small vacuum when they are all cranked

:picard: to everyone who says he should go with a quad core system at slower clock speeds for gaming

Just got this shipped to the door today.

GeForce 9800 GT XXX for $129.95 and free copy of COD5

newegg

Why do you have an 80 on the back? I thought the back was also a 120mm compartment. The side too… At least the antec 900 I had 3 weeks ago was.

Also, Im going to agree with itsjim on the dual vs quad issue. I have a hard time suggesting a quad core cpu to anybody thats as old as the q6600. If we weere talking q9450 or higher for the same price, Id say yes as they an an overall better chip. But not for q6600.

Some current games utilize 4 cores and future games will def begin to implement that more. But you also need to take his video card into consideration. How many games will he actually be playing with that thing in 2 years anyway when most games actually need quad cores for smooth gameplay? At high settings? Probably none. So I would say the dual core would be a better match with the 4750 NOW, given his usage habits.

Ah yes They are 120mm, for some reason I thought they were 80

No thermal paste?

i’ve got like 2 or 3 tubes of arctic silver from old builds, does that stuff go bad?

I dunno taste it and see…

Lol, I don’t think it goes bad.

Yes, the memory controller actually slows down… but, like I said, it is looking at “less” memory. The difference depends on the rest of the variables… but now that I think about it… the difference would be seen, but at what cost (no room for expansion)

Good build BTW. I shop for a new PC every month. One of these days I’ll actually buy one

There is a post for peoples rigs burried somewhere. Ill have to update mine…Its gone through quite a revamping.
