need to transfer title

to me and get the car registered in this state… where do I do this?

:wtf:

notary?!?

aaa or my sister

i think it can all be taken care of at a notary.

signed title… + insurance card + car to prove VIN = teh win

any messenger service will do this.

AAA is good. If youre a member you can get the tittle change service charge for free. you just gotta pay for tax, plates, registration. They will give you the plates and stickers on the spot.

Make sure to bring the title, proof of insurance and stencils of the vin# from the dash.

good deal i will head to AAA soon, got insurance for 199 for 6 months

now for the tax on the car could i say that I only paid a 1000 for it? or how does that work?

i think the seller has to agree that it was “sold for that amount.” when i was transfering the title on a bike, we both agreed that it was “sold for $500” even though it was $3000.the only problem was there was a thing on the title (i think) that had condition and the condition couldn’t be checked as “excellent” because it was so far under blue book.

all he did was sign the back. so would that mean i can put in the price it was sold at?

yeah …just tell the AAA people it didnt run blah blah blah…and you paid XXX amount of dollars

300

im not sure…i thought both had to be present at the time of the title transfer for it to go through. if not, then maybe you can try it. i’m pretty sure you dont need documented proof that it was sold for a certain amount, either way. at worst they might ask for a reason its so cheap.

you could type up a bill of sale if you wanted (to project the price) but don’t need it… a signed title > bill of sale

both don’t need to be there… if dude signed under seller… icould steal the title and title it under my name.

just need the vin + insurance.

say you bought it for 300 or 400 and just say it had body damage and didn’t run… no one will question you (just keep it a little lower than bluebook)…

if you put $1 they’ll come after you… i said i bought my cabby for 400 and the messenger lady wrote down 100

i got my car for $1 and they didnt really care or give me a hard time…

nice

i mean the car did not run when i got it… so i am telling the truth there!!

my car ran and everything…we told them that and he was just like lucky you lol. he didnt give me any shit at all. so hopefully you can get away with it like i did

it’s not worth ‘getting away with’

i hope you realize that our state dept isn’t the fastest bunch… they can still audit car sales up to 7 years old… i mean, if it’s family or a ‘gift’ you can generally say $1… but if you buy a couple cars in your lifetime (up to this point) and more than 1 of them is a ‘gift’ or $1… then they’ll audit you and see whats up with them…

in reality you’re dealing with paying like $20 bucks… (300 dollar car) so it’s really not worth the risk of being audited…

it WAS a family gift :moon: :hsdance:

so then why would whitey be able to ‘get away with it like i (you) did’ … when you got it from someone in your family? :slap:
