Neonglh's 2003 Evo thread (exhaust is finished 12/23)

Nope, it had a different exhaust, original plugs, etc…

i see, i just want to know how different it feels with no tune then after the tune

He dose really, really good work. After seeing how good the evo turned out. I’m gona have cory paint a new hood for my camaro, bumpers, and do his magic fixing some other little scrapes and such.

OH it was night and day. The car felt litterly slow as fuck when I got it. The boost was lower than stock, boost leaks, original plugs, and no tune. After emery got done, it rips pretty great

hmmm nice good price on the tune?

Not sure where I posted pictures, but here are some from right before the snow fall, when I put the JDM rear bumper on, and re-did my exhaust to fit the new bumper:

Thanks to studderin and emery, we got the exhaust lined up perfeclty in the center of the opening, at the angle I wanted.

Currently, the car is up at the shop, getting a different downpipe. I hope this doesn’t mess with the angle of the exhaust at the rear.

Also, I got a set of Enkei RPF1’s before winter:

Over the rest of the winter, I plan on getting my transmission fixed, some lightweight mods, and the basics. I believe I will be getting Ricer’s CF trunk this week. I hope to beat my 11.9 personal best this spring  I will keep this thread going as the updates happen. I want this to be one of the nicer evo’s out this year.

I also went with the lightweight battery from Jeller, here are the comparisons to stock:

Other engine-bay planned weight reduction includes the a/c system, any bracket that I can get away with removing, the strut bar, the egr system and extra vac lines, front bumper support, etc… I hope to get her closer to the weight I’m used to in a car.

Looks good man  Keep up the good work. Paint up them brembos when you get a chance too  I am sure its on the list.

looks good.

your username is spelled wrong in the title.

get rid of the support bracket under the IM, its a pain to get to, but its possible. save u a few lbs

Nice Bumper man, looks good.

Hah, nice catch!

whats wrong with the transmission mark?

Brian

When I bought it, it had bad 3rd gear syncros. Its fine for daily driving, but if I grab 3rd gear fast, either up or down shifting, it grinds really badly. I am just going to send it out to TRE and in the process, get a nice clutch too, so that I will be set there for this whole year.

Here is the picture of the downpipe i just bought:

The one I bought has a full 3" out of the turbo though, so it doesn’t have that transition. It eliminates the factory o2 housing and it ceramic coated, so it should help cut down on the temps a little bit.

open dump, hell yea

That’s a pretty nice downpipe.

Looks great but… New rims, jdm bumper, new downpipe and i still dont have my $10 from the stubby antenna whats up man?

I told you a bunch of times now, just send me your paypal, your address, or anything, and I will pay you! At one point you wanted the meth in partial payment, but I never heard back from you since.

10 dollars…
