New Addition to the Family: 1986 Regal T-Type

It took almost 2 years of searching, but my dad finally found a car for himself. It’s completely original except for new OEM springs and struts and possibly some repainted exterior pieces. He bought it through Kirban Racing. It only had 1 owner and has been garaged kept it’s whole life.

I wanted to see him get a Grand National, but the clean ones are still going for $20k - $25k. This one sold for $12k and I believe there were only 463 made in this color, with these options. It’s a Tennessee car, and he gets to pick it up in a couple weeks.

He also got my mom a 2001 Regal GS for a daily driver. Black and dark grey with 26k miles and picked it up $12k also.

Too bad Shawn so hard to get a hold of, but I have seen some of his work in the wild.

niiiiiiiiiiice

thats a nice g body

son of a bitch… thats the car i was looking for 86 wh1… nice ride!

I think it’s a pretty badass car. My dad doesn’t plan on doing anything crazy with it. Low 13’s is his goal, but I’m sure he’ll want to go a little faster since these seem to run those times with simple mods.

The only things he’s mentioned to me are a new diff. to get both wheels spinning, a bigger turbo and a boost guage. I’m sure he’ll be out at PRP a lot, too bad I don’t live in Pittsburgh anymore. I want to see it run!

you dont need to waste money on a bigger turbo to go low 13’s. adjustible wastegate, adjustible fuel pressure regulator, a k& N and a scan master and you’re good for high 12’s in stock trim after you turn both the fuel and boost up…

Very nice car & very rare, you will need this site News, Politics, Sports, Mail & Latest Headlines - AOL.com . I also have a 1986 WH1 car and there is 2 more in the pittsburgh aera that i know of .ENJOY

                                   Shawn

good site!

Cool, I’ll have to let him know. He wants it drive like stock, but still be able to pull some decent times at the track. We met a guy last year that drove 6 hours to Rockingham and ran an 11.2, then drove back home. That’s what really turned us on to the car.

I’m sure I’ll be sending some PM’s your way.

check out turbobuick.com and GNTTYPE.org as well…

welcome to the GBC!!!

Nice pick-up on your dad’s part.

there was a T-Type identical to that one for sale a few weeks ago locally, except it was heavily modded, and ran 10s.

GL with the car. GM Turbo 6 FTW.

Nice car.
