Sold my Cherokee earlier this year, and have been keeping my eyes open for a 4x4 since. I was actually looking for an Imprezza, mid-late 90’s, but everything i saw was an overpriced hunk of shit. I was also looking at Wranglers, with the same result. Then this thing popped up at the dealer where my brother works…original owner, bought it there, had it serviced there, so my bro had all the service records in the computer. Power moonroof, trip computer, the usual toys, plus cloth seats which i prefer. Has the 4.0, and is showing 20.3 on the average MPG computer as of right now. I figured $3400 wasn’t bad for a 98.
So you sold your Cherokee then bought another Cherokee ? hmmmm…
Differences in motor? Interior? Color?
I bet the avg mpg changes after you start driving it…
nice cherokee, but whats the baby blue ride?
I sold a Basic Cherokee and bought a newer, cleaner ,a nd better equipped Grand Cherokee.
The mileage is averaging between 19-21 driving back and forth to work, which is about 75% highway (28, but i hit the dreaded backup to the heinz plant every day). Straight stop and go seems to be around 17. Having the 6 Vs the V8 helps, at least as far as mileage goes.
Shaggy, the blue ride is my 69 SAAB 96 V4
nice zj… im sure you’ll love it, they are pretty good DD’s
clean jeep. not bad at all for the price. that motor goes for ever… as you may know already
wow awesome price for that jeep.
that saab is badass!!!
Thanks. It’s an interesting car to drive and gets a lot of attention.
The Jeep can make a decent DD, but i will mostly use it for getting around in the snow. I am using it a lot right now becasue i got a 3000 mile warranty with it, and i want to see if anything is going to need taken care of. I mostly use my Strat or PT for commuting to work, since they both get high 20’s mileage.
It’s tough to beat the 4.0 straight 6. I had an 88 Cherokee a few years ago that had 233K on it when i sold it, and the engine was strong and using no oil.
