Now he just picks a random high number and adds a “%” to the end of it.

In the same post you stated the only reason someone would buy a Sliverado is price and then you asked if they would swap for a more expensive Tundra?
According to any economics book I have ever read, the person should swap 100% of the time and therefore the other 5% would be consider irrational. So I am not sure what you were trying to prove with that post.

The only reason people buy Chevy Trucks is:

• Loyalty/Narrow mindedness
• Price

If you disagree with me, go and ask anybody driving a Silverado, that if for free, would they swap their silverado with a tundra? 95% of people would say “yes”.

Now ask anyone driving a tundra, the same question, but try to put them into a f-150 or silverado… 95% would say “no”.

I have no loyalties to any auto manufacturer, or manufacturing country. I’ve owned Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan and Chevy trucks. I’m up to 31 cars in my life, and I believe that every manufacturer makes good, reliable vehicles as well as mistakes. I bought my 07 Silverado 5.3L 4wd with displacement on demand for reliability, towing ability and power in that order. The suspension and steering are wonderful. It’s not as quiet riding as some of the competitors but I don’t mind at all. I certianly wouldn’t trade it for a Tundra.

Tundra has better frame design, bigger ring gear, nicer interior, quieter ride, better suspension, much better reliability and fit & finish. That’s quite a bit more than “a little change from the factory”.

You do realize that there isn’t any better “design” about them at all? They just made it all larger or bigger.

That is good that the ring gear is larger but when is the last time you heard of someone breaking a GM 12 bolt?

Frame is larger? I think the F-150 actually has the “largest” frame. Interestingly enough, the GM frame is the most ridged. I guess that would prove who’s frame is best designed.

Last time I checked the suspension was the age old system used by 90% of trucks out there.

Do they have long term quality testing even available on these trucks? My friends dad used a straight 6 F-150 as a lawn service truck and a personal truck and it lasted forever. So long the only reason he got rid of it was because it was totaled. He got a new Ford and hates it. My dad had a 1500 silverado that he turned into a tow truck back in the day. Yes a 1/2 ton tow truck holy hell.

Fit and finish is generally shitty on all cars. The only cars I’ve ever been in that have *excellent interiors cost over 100K.

I think it is more of an issue of cost. They have them in the caddy.

Exactly I think because people hear on TV that the interior is so much better, they get brain washed into thinking they actually are…

Good post. My 95 ford had a 300 ci straight 6 with a 5 speed, 4wd and 220k. The only thing that ever failed were rusty fuel lines! Great truck.

they are people who want to OWN trucks to SAY they have a truck
they have no fucking purpose
gm/ford offer 3 different duties for their trucks
toyota offers one
gm 2500 series LT1 > any toyota tundra
You cant compare a 500hp supercharged fucking tundra to a GM

My dad tows a 10,000 lb trailor and 12,000 lb dump trailor with his chevy 2500hd and his excursion and still gets about 10mpg

we tried it with a tundra when we test drove one, IT COULD NOT GET OUT OF ITS OWN WAY

i have never seen anyone driving a tundra that used it for the actual purpose of the truck. and no its not because contractors are “poor”, its because they choose a truck that has EVERYTHING. Price has very little incentive, if anything its just a reason for them to get a new truck.

My favorite thing was seeing a 40 foot Nascar truck series Toyota trailer being pulled by a paint matching Chevy 3500. Why… Toyota doesn’t make anything that can do the duty.

When I bought my truck I test drove and researched everything. The Tundra is nice as a commuter or sometimes work truck. There are a number of features that make it attractive but I use mine for work. There is no doubt that for a truck, the Tundra moves out pretty well, but HP isn’t everything.

Oh yea, and the commercials are definitely tasteless :roflpicard: If the Miller and Bud ad wars taught us anything over the years, it’s that aggressive entertaining commercials end up in large corporate takeovers for everyone :lolham:
