My name is Matt, I’m 22ish, born and raised in Tonawanda. I sometimes go to Erie Community College for Mechanical Engineering, and I work at the Amherst Pepboys. If you see a mostly flat black Ranger with a loud exhaust getting pulled over, that’s me. I have no formal automotive training, I just started teaching myself everything I know when I bought my first car, Which was an 88 Ford Escort GT. About a month into owning it, I blew then engine, and spent a year fitting a 2.0 Zetec engine from a 98 ZX2 into it (Tech Article written from a build thread I posted http://fordexp.com/tech_articles/zetec_engine_swap ). I eventually replaced that with my ranger, that I rolled 4 days after buying. It’s got a little custom work, and a lot of shit left to fix. I’ve got about 9 different projects I’m working on on the truck, and about 6 dozen other ones I have planned, including a v8 swap eventually. Whenever money allows, I want to pick up another project, because i miss having a tiny car.
