New from Saratoga

Whats up,

I’m John and I live and work in Saratoga. I found this site on Google while searching for Saab garages in the 518 area. I just got yelled at for not introducing myself, so here I am. Hello.

I guess I can ask here: is brake fluid something that should be flushed and refilled? I have a Saab 9-7x and while I was doing the pads/rotors, I checked the reservoir and noticed that the fluid had dirt and crap in it.

Welcome to the site. Do you have a saab or looking to buy?

Dirt in it? definitely. I’d also check around for rusty lines since there should be no way to get dirt in there (unless you live driving without the top on the reservoir)

Flushing it is easy and you should be able to do it without taking it to a garage.

I’d rather not have to bleed brakes, I had to do that on my old car and it made a mess. I suppose I could just take what the Haynes manual suggests and suck out what is in the reservoir with an old turkey baster and then refill.

Prolly not dirt lol its just absorbed water , and the seal on the cap Prolly died the fluid . Brake fluid is suttin ya should flush every 40 k just to get the shit out of it . If its suttin ya don’t wanna do I have my own shop and can do it for u . If ya looking for a saab shop a.s.s used to be new Salem dawn .

Welcome, and I would highly recommend bringing your car to Albany Speed Shop if you have any issues you need worked out with your car, they are SAAB experts!

welcome!

Thanks gregg !!!

I hate you…lol

Ok

Asshole!!! LMFAO

U like my pic lolol

Welsome!
If you want to lift your 97x I have rims and tires that would fit it. And if yours does not have air ride, I also have the lift kit to do so.

I’ll definitely have to flush the fluid, thanks for the help.

yea guys! YEA GREG!

Welcome back Leo

I’m going to drain and refill the reservoir this weekend. Close enough to flushing + refilling. lol

Eh. Just do it. Bleeding the brakes is easy enough if you have someone to help out.

It is against the rules in my complex to perform maintenance on vehicles. I could drain + refill the reservoir easily, but having tires off and bleeding brakes won’t happen.
