Hell all, Ive been living in Albany about a year and a kid i work with told me about this forum… I moved here from Tampa Florida. I used to be really into the racing scene down there, and would like to get back into it… I owned a 91 Galant vr4 for 3 years then moved from mitsu to audi, I now have an 01 A4 only mods are a 2.5 inch turbo back and a k&n, chip and other mods on the way… so whats the story on the scene around here?

As far as drag racing, there’s always a great showing at the Wednesday night test & tune at www.dragway.com, about 30 minutes from the Albany area. As far as hanging out and “spirited driving” on fri and sat nights, everyone hangs out at the mcdonalds/kmart/o’toole’s plaza area next to 155 on central. T&T’s dont start up til may and the “lot” as it’s called doesnt start getting a lot of traffic till late march or april, depending on the weather

How do you like the Audi compared to it?
I’ve driven stock 1.8Ts and they were smoother but the Galant “felt” faster (thanks to 7.8:1 compression maybe off boost?) Enjoy the site…

well i moved here cause i referee junior hockey and fla is not exactly a hockey hotbed.
as far as the swich… i loved my galant but i like the audi a little more, its not as quick out of the box but it handles way better and rides a lot better. The main reason for the swich was i needed something a little more reliable and the a4 has been. If i had the money id still have the galant believe me.
as far as other mods i was gonna get a giac chip or an apr chip then do a nice gt28r setup with a nice suspension package… to make the car a little quicker.

if you want to go a GT28RS do not go with GIAC or APR. they dont offer software to suit your needs… check out Eurodyne.ca or Unitronic.ca as those companies will credit you for your stock turbo program towards your BT software upgrade. i personally have the Eurodyne file on my car. cant complain with it.
