SPA
I hate Autometer.
i dont think u can get the spa with boost and AF tho, unless u hack it to work
same i have the red racer and an aem uego. love them both. and all together they werent that much, i think i paid $350 for the both.
meh, i have af and boost in a single display.
Anybody have any feedback on the auto meter electric full sweep standalone gauges? ie how accurate they are?
What is the purpose of it being accurate for you? As long as you go up incremental, and your wideband is accurate, your boost gauges accuracy is almost a moot point.
if you are not tuning off the guages, and just watching out for spikes/drops in pressure, I see no need for exact accuracy.
i have dealt with a TON of autometer gauges and have yet to see one of these mysterious “inaccurate” gauges. maybe you guys just dont know how to install them
+1 to a certain extent.
If youre datalogging and tuning from that, then why bother with a gauge at all, other then diagnostic purposes (which is better done via datalog) or to serve as an idiot light?
Yea, if i cant trust it… then why bother…
My last autometer wasnt consitant… i thought i was having wastegate issues… because boost was all over the place… until i looked at my haltech datalog, and it was spot on everytime… it was the gauge being off 2-3psi all the time either way… i checked all the connections, ran new tubing… even made the tubing shorter (was ~4 feet, cut it down to ~ 2) still no change
yea… and you were running a datalogging EMS…
i wont be this time around though… thats the thing…
That is awesome. Explain yourself!
That rear view mirror thing is dumb though… I don’t know how fast your people’s cars are, but I have never been able to look at anything but straight in front of me when I am in a car at full boost. The car goes all over the place, how could you ever look at the rear view mirror??
- i have great peripheral vision
- i don’t drive a fast car
- i am only in full boost about 1/2 second before shift
- the project was a labor of love… like most projects I do, it was about challenging myself, doing something different and learning something new in the process.
